Conceived as a raider, the Lung Wang was designed to meet Chancellor Liao's specifications for a craft capable of operating independently of support while holding its own against any non-Clan foe. Key to its success, the vessel is built around the new Xevec-19 drive system. Taking up almost a third of the ship's mass, it offers impressive speed. With the capacity to carry a standard Succession Wars era light raiding party of 'Mechs and fighters, along with considerable forward-facing firepower, the vessel ably meets those requirements.[1][5]
