Comment on balance[edit]

Same range, similar damage, colder than, and 1/5th the weight of an IS large laser? Battletech is not a balanced game by any measure, regardless of the cost difference.— The preceding unsigned comment was posted by 216.211.14.58 (talkcontribs) .

Game balance is not really a wiki issue though, if anything I am purposefully trying to steer the wiki away from having anything to do with rules at all. It is kinda hard to rephrase stats and rules, and to directly copy the text is Plagiarism--Dmon (talk) 10:44, 19 June 2020 (EDT)

Why are we breaking out individual models of lasers from the table?[edit]

Just curious to know why we're breaking up a large table into several smaller ones. Is it to take advantage of redirection or something?--Mbear(talk) 10:07, 27 September 2019 (EDT)

That and to begin to include fluff details like lens sizes, beam colors and unreliability of specific models of weapon. The process is a slow one but the Medium Laser is currently further along as to what I want to include.--Dmon (talk) 10:24, 27 September 2019 (EDT)

I am specifically trying not to put such info into tables as the weapons articles are already very number and rules heavy compared to the rest of the wiki. I want to try and encourage fluff to be written as you can buy a copy of the rules pretty easily if you want hard numbers.--Dmon (talk) 11:15, 27 September 2019 (EDT)
