Lamar first appeared on an early map in ''[[Handbook: House Kurita]]'', prompting questions over whether its absence from other sources such as ''Handbook: House Steiner'' was an error. System Information
X:Y Coordinates14.738 : 266.678[e]

The Lamar system was home to at least one habitable world and as of 2786 was located in the Tamar Domains region of the Tamar Pact within the Lyran Commonwealth.[1][2]

System Description

Lamar is located close to the Satalice and Skandia systems.[1]

System History

Lamar was colonized at some point during the First Exodus from Terra,[1] but wasn't recorded on maps for the majority of its inhabited era due to the very low population.[3] The inhabited planet in the Lamar system was rendered uninhabitable in November 2799.[4]

Planetary History

Lamar was a strategic staging world, with a meager permanent population; the system was considered to be so underpopulated that the majority of interstellar maps didn't bother recording it as an inhabited world.[3]

First Succession War

In 2799, General Paul Steiner, the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces commanding officer and the man responsible for the direction of the Lyran defenses on the Draconis Combine border, was on Lamar preparing to retake the Skandia system when the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery hit the planet with a nuclear attack. Paul Steiner was killed, and command of the LCAF passed to Amanda Lestrade.[3] The attack, which hit Lamar in November, rendered the planet uninhabitable.[4]

Notes

Lamar first appeared on an early map in Handbook: House Kurita, prompting questions over whether its absence from other sources such as Handbook: House Steiner was an error. The nature of Lamar and an explanation for its absence from maps was included in passing in the First Succession War sourcebook.
