Description[edit]

The Malak is the lightest in the Word of Blake's Celestial series of OmniMechs designed for the Manei Domini. The Malak features a dazzling array of new construction materials in an attempt to free up as much weight as possible in a fast and reliable package. The 'Mech mounts an XL gyro, a small cockpit, mounted on an endo steel frame, all protected by six tons of light ferro-fibrous armor. A C3i computer allows it to sync with other Manei Domini so equipped. Nine and a half tons of pod space are left for additional equipment[4].

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The Invictus configuration of this light 'Mech features a light PPC, an ER medium laser, and a flamer that allow it to operate far from supply lines. The SRM-2 is capable of mounting Inferno munitions, which can make quick work of vehicles and infantry. To protect the 'Mech from ammunition explosions it houses missiles in CASE-protected storage in the right torso. For close combat it carries a retractable blade.[4]

Alternate Configurations[edit]

  • Alternate Configuration A (Dominus
The A configuration of this scout 'Mech uses a pair of ER medium lasers as its main weapons, supported by six light machine guns split into two Machine Gun Arrays. These, along with a pair of torso-mounted flamers, give the 'Mech the capability to devastate conventional infantry. A single ER small laser rounds out the weapons array while CASE protects the pilot from ammo explosions.[1] BV (2.0) = 794[1] or 823[5]
  • Alternate Configuration B (Infernus
A medium-range configuration, most of the Infernus configuration's pod space is taken up by a head-mounted snub-nose PPC, while each arm mounts an ER medium laser, giving the Malak the ability to cover its flanks. To protect it from enemy electronics, the Malak B also carries a Guardian ECM suite.[1] BV (2.0) = 1,047[1][6]
  • Alternate Configuration D (Luminos
The D configuration is effective at all ranges, with an all-energy loadout that gives it the ability to operate beyond the range of supply lines. Two light PPCs have the longest range of the Luminos' weapons. This variant also carries a pair of ER medium lasers, giving it a very small window where its four largest guns overlap optimal ranges and, should the Malak D find itself inside the minimum range of the PPCs, it can utilize three ER small lasers.[1] BV (2.0) = 1,055[1][8]
  • Alternate Configuration E (Eminus
The Malak E utilizes experimental technology in the form of a Thunderbolt 5 missile launcher, though it only carries one ton of CASE-protected ammunition. To support this it mounts a light PPC and a pair of ER medium lasers.[1] BV (2.0) = 957[1][9]
  • Alternate Configuration S (Caelestis
An experimental testbed configuration sighted in use among the Blakist Shadow Divisions in 3075, the Caelestis configuration features a PPC capacitor-enhanced ER PPC mounted on its right arm, supported by a trio of ER small lasers. BV (2.0) = 1,127[10]

Custom Configurations[edit]

Design Quirks[edit]

The Malak has the following Design Quirks:[12]

Notes[edit]

  • Malak is Arabic for "angel."
