The Jansen's Hold system was home to at least one habitable world and as of 3151 was located in the Taurian Concordat.[2]

System Description[edit]

Janen's Hold is located near the Parian and New Vallis systems and is Rimward from Terra.[3] It is know to have at least three planets with one of those being inhabited.[1]

System History[edit]

The Janen's Hold system was colonized during the age of the Star League sometime before 2750.[3]

Jansen's Hold III, or simply Jansen's Hold, is a cool to temperate world located along the Taurian Concordat border with the Federated Suns. It was colonized at some point during the reign of the Star League and has been under uninterrupted Taurian control for over 400 years. It is orbited by two moons: Dak and Rogue.[1]

Planetary History[edit]

Raids of 3071[edit]

Over 3071, Jansen's Hold was attacked three times by a sophisticated band of unmarked bandits. Their attacks always coincided with the end of a production run of armor segments at a nearby factory. Their first attack was small and easily repulsed by Longwood's Bluecoats. However, when the mercenaries approached a bandit Scorpion BattleMech they had disabled, the bandit pilot detonated his own SRM stores thus destroying himself and the 'Mech before it could be salvaged.

The second attack had the bandits feint to the factory again only to then raid the nearby starport that had several warehouses of completed armor segments ready for shipment. The Bluecoats did not take any losses, but were only to recover 25% of the armor shipment before the bandits escaped with the rest. At this time, the defenders began to suspect that an insider was feeding information to the bandits.

Anticipating a third attack, Longwood's Bluecoats set a trap by stationing troops within the warehouses of the next completed armor shipment. When the raiders dropped directly onto the warehouses, they were engaged by the mercenaries and took heavy damage while another Bluecoat force moved in to close the trap. However, at this time a new bandit force, numbering a battalion in strength, arrived to engage the initial Bluecoat force. The mercenary forces who had hoped to spring a trap on the bandits were now fighting for their lives. The bandits were able to break off just before the Bluecoat reinforcements arrived.

Longwood's Bluecoats immediately called for reinforcements from their Taurian employers, but those calls went unanswered. This led the group to start considering leaving the employ of the Concordat and join the Federated Suns.[54]

Raid of 3072[edit]

On 12 June 3072, the Longwood's Bluecoats were attacked by troops sporting Armed Forces of the Federated Suns colors. The mercenaries suffered heavy losses and the armor factory they were defending was completely plundered of materials.[55][56]

After the end of the Jihad, Taurus Territorial Industries built a factory on Jansen's Hold as part of the Concordat's military production recovery efforts. The manufacturing plant built primitive tech level Griffins and Phoenixes.[57]
