The Dehgolan system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 3145 was located in the Skandia Province of the Rasalhague Dominion.[1][2]

System Description

The Dehgolan system is located near the Fefferfer and Tukayyid systems.[3]

System History

The Dehgolan system was colonized at some point during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was a member of the Tamar Pact prior to the formation of the Lyran Commonwealth in the mid-twenty-fourth century.[4]

Planetary History

Fourth Succession War

Dehgolan was one of the worlds struck by the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces in Operation GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG, the major Lyran Commonwealth offensive of the Fourth Succession War. Dehgolan was a target of the third and final wave of attacks at the end of 3028 prior to the lull before Lyran offensive operations resumed in 3029 and was hit by the Nineteenth Arcturan Guards, who had conquered Jabuka and attacked Tukayyid during the first two waves of the operation, as well as Richard's Panzer Brigade, who were deployed forward from Karbala.[42]

In the short story A Dagger's Death, which takes place in 3027, Dehgolan is mentioned for its "fever-ridden swamps."[citation needed]

Ronin War

During the Ronin War, Kanrei Theodore Kurita's expeditionary force of loyal Combine troops assisted the Free Rasalhague Republic in eliminating the majority of the disgraced ronin, but not all of them were killed or captured. In the following months, Satoshi Takeda, officially a member of the Fifth Amphigean Light Assault Group, rallied surviving ronin to his banner to continue his crusade of subjugating the Rasalhague people in the name of Coordinator Takashi Kurita. In early 3036, Takeda and his forces took control of Dehgolan, proclaiming its inhabitants now the lawful subjects of the Coordinator.[43]

On 15 March 3036, the FRR launched Operation ONODA to end Satoshi Takeda's ambitions. The First Tyr Regiment, assisted by mercenary forces, made planetfall and established a beachhead in the ronin's seized territories. From there, they engaged Takeda and the bulk of his forces in a swampy region known regionally as the Stinking Pools, an area of fairly open terrain that is often coated in notoriously heavy fog. The result was an overwhelming FRR victory and Takeda himself died in the battle. Some of Takeda's lieutenants, however, threatened retribution on the civilian population. Before there was too much further bloodshed, the FRR and Draconis Combine reached an agreement, offering terms of surrender for the remaining ronin to withdraw from Dehgolan and be reintegrated into the Combine.[43]

The Jihad

It was reported in an INN news magazine issued in 3078 that rumors were circulating about a resistance cell on Dehgolan which had been uncovered by Clan Ghost Bear and which had been operating with support from the Word of Blake.[44]
