The Bounty Hunter was a mysterious figure whom first appeared in the late 2900s and wore a unique PA(L) (Power Armor - Light) suit. He (or she) initially only took contracts on notorious criminals, who were more often than not brought back dead.

General Description

Always a MechWarrior, the Bounty Hunter usually piloted a Marauder which was originally Natasha Kerensky's. Further, Natasha's signature Warhammer was said to be the Bounty Hunter's original 'Mech. Later he was seen piloing a Marauder II and a Mad Cat. His 'Mechs were always painted a bright green with currency symbols painted on it and were a feared sight on the battlefield.

The Bounty Hunter had been active for close to a century, leading to speculation that the PA(L) suit, 'Mech, and mythos were passed from parent to child or from person to person via the death of the former. The only known people to assume the Bounty Hunter identity were Michi Noketsuna and Vic Travers, who inherited the equipment, as well as an ancient book refered to as "the tradition".[1]

The "Bounty Hunter" legend was the topic of a hero team-style tri-vid show. This led to greater fame for the legendary character.

History

Because the "Bounty Hunter" is an identity rather than a single individual, its history is complicated.

Post Fourth-Succession War

In October 3030, Michi Noketsuna accepted an offer to join Theodore Kurita in helping to protect the Draconis Combine from the nascent Federated Commonwealth. At that time, he turned over the tradition, mech, armor and kill log to Vic Travers. [2]

In 3034, the Bounty Hunter reportedly hunted down and killed Dale Sandstrom. Sandstrom, formerly of the 5th Regulan Hussars and piloting an Assassin, had apparently become a freelance mechwarrior/bounty hunter, and the Bounty Hunter did not like anyone stealing his "shtick". [3]

Fed Com Civil War

Sometime during the fighting on Kathil during the FedCom Civil War, the Bounty Hunter recruited an infamous Mechwarrior named Rebekah into his team, a former warrior with McCarron's Armored Cavalry.[4]

Bounty Hunter during the Jihad

Jihad

In late 3067 he rescued or possibly kidnapped Kai Allard-Liao, possibly in service to Duke George Hasek of the Federated Suns just prior to the Duke's assault against the Capellan Confederation. Allard-Liao was later "rescued" by the Death Commandos during the Capellan counterattack.[citation needed]

In 3072 someone going by the name "Walt Urizeman" has taken over after Vic Travers.[5] He tangles with Berith on Dalton in the FWL over some documents. [6]

Notes

  • Immediately prior to taking Natasha Kerensky's Marauder, the Bounty Hunter was apparently piloting a Griffin. [7]
