System History
Monthey was a part of the Timbuktu Province of the Rim Worlds Republic as of 2750.[1] a It was considered lost following the Succession Wars and rediscovered by Interstellar Expeditions in or before 3069. Thinking they had found a virgin world, they nicknamed the planet Blue Water and kept calling it by this name even after realizing that this was the Monthey system.[2]

Notes
Although Monthey is detailed on maps within Handbook: Major Periphery States up until 2750,[1] none of the maps from later eras presented in the Handbooks series of sourcebooks extend far enough into the Periphery to confirm or deny the continued presence of this system during the Succession Wars era.
