The Great X system was home to at least one habitable world, Great X IV, and as at 3145 was located in the Clan Jade Falcon Occupation Zone.[2][3]

System Description

The Great X system is located near the Beta Regulus II and Deia systems.[4][5] The Great X system consists of a class F1V primary orbited by at least four worlds. During the late Thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the system nadir jump point.[1]

System History

The Great X system was settled during or shortly before the Age of War and was a member of the Lyran Commonwealth during the Star League era.[6]

Great X IV

Great X IV, more commonly known simply as Great X, is the fourth planet in the Great X system and has two moons named Why and Zee.[1]

Planetary History

Star League

After the "Birthday Proclamations" of 2755, Great X became the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[7]

Clan Invasion

Great X spent most of its existence as a waystation for Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces troops on their way to the Draconis Combine front. After the Clan Invasion the Exes (as the inhabitants call themselves) were surprised to find themselves near a front line. Their proximity to the Clan Jade Falcon front made Great X the perfect place for the Lyran Alliance Armed Forces to establish a fortified depot system. The smaller continent, Bastion, received most of this effort, with several new transshipment hubs being built to support troops heading to fight the Falcons.[1]

The Jihad

In 3070 the Twenty-fifth Arcturan Guards were assigned to garrison Great X.[1] They oversaw the fortification efforts that began that same year. During the early Jihad Great X was bypassed by the Clans and the Word of Blake, but the supply depots that had been constructed were soon emptied and the supplies forwarded to Arc-Royal and other worlds. In December 3070 survivors from both those fronts landed on the world to rebuild. Among them were the Knights of St. Cameron, Clan Wolf-in-Exile's Second Wolf Legion, and the Thorin FTM. Fortunately the Inner Sphere commands were still present in 3071 when Clan Jade Falcon raided the planet.[8][9] The Knights of St. Cameron, Arcturan Guards, and Thorin FTM faced the Jade Falcon's Delta Galaxy.[1] Template:Red Corsair Timeline
