The First Genyosha was an elite heavy BattleMech regiment in the service of the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery.[1]

Formation

Formation and Battle for Silver Eagle

The unit was formed in 3027 by order of Coordinator Takashi Kurita to be an elite regiment. Each trooper individually selected by Yorinaga Kurita, picked from the of the best House Kurita soldiers.[2] Its original mission was receive Lord Kurita's military knowledge and destroy the mercenary Kell Hounds, whom he felt robbed him of his honor. He was instructured to hand pick and trained 50 men best warriors from every unit in the Combine. He would be their teacher and commander. From there, his men would train 50 more warriors. Cooridinator told Yorinaga these men would form core of his new command, the Genyosha or the Black Ocean.[3] The unit was based on world of Nashira, where it started to train members to Yorinaga Kurita's standards. The Genyosha was up to battalion strength by time it was operational enough to conduct missions for the Dragon.[4]

The unit's first saw action on a asteroid-planetoid in the Styx star system. They were to retrieve the Archon-Designate Melissa Steiner, whom had been kidnapped by Heimdall terrorist group. Genyosha was to back up a elite ISF commando team sent from Dieron to assist in the capture.[5] However, once they arrived in Styx, they discovered that ISF raid had failed. Now, Lord Yorinaga's rivals, The Kell Hounds were attempting to rescue the hostages. The two forces clashed, climax of the battle was the fight between Lord Yorinaga and Kell Hound leader Lt. Colonel Patrick Kell. In there heated engagement resulted in Kell being shot down. However, Lord Kurita victory was short lived. Kell Hound Leutenant Dan Allard, crashes his Valkyrie into the Yorinaga's Warhammer and renders it disabled. This turn of events resulted in the escape of Archon-Designate, hostages and the Hounds from Kurita space.[6] After Lord Kurita was shot down, the Genyosha withdrew to their DropShips and left system in defeat.

4th Succession War

Lord Yorinaga now dedicated Genyosha to confronting Colonel Morgan Kell. He months after the Silver Eagle Incident, he added and trained more troops to raise Genyosha to full regiment strength. Mixing various Combine ethics groups, Rasalhagues, Azami, and other warriors bring regiment to full strenght.[7]

When the 4th Succession War broke out in late August 3028, deployed from its base on Nashira to hunt the Hounds. It received word of the Kell Hounds being on the Davion held world of Northwind. It discovered the world had been invaded by Tai-Sho Palmer Conti & 5th Sword of Light in January of 3029. The Sword and its supporting unit, 36th Dieron Regulars had destroyed main line unit there, but was being over run by Davion mercenaries forces. The Genyosha landed on planet pushes the invaders back from the 5th's Headquarts and seriously mauled both units, include Team Banzai.[8]

Days later, the Northwind Highlanders arrive reinforce the beleaguered defenders and push them off Genyosha and rest off world. They arrived back on Nashira in April, to find as reported earlier that their base had been destroyed. However, Lord Kurita is able make out that ruins was turned into map to where they should fight next.[9] Making from it they must go to Lyran world of Ryde by June. They arrive only to discover that Hounds had not arrived, that raid of world they were at had delayed them. Lord Kurita has his son Chu-sa Akira Brahe send a holovid to the hounds on where meet next; Nusakan.

The Genyosha goes to Moore, where it leaders meet with Prince Theodore Kurita. Where he pushes for a new offensive into a Lyran vunlerable region of Isle of the Skye. The Genyosha was to lure only remaining potiential defenders away, the Kell Hounds, to their duel far from the region on Nusakan. The Genyosha assisted Prince Theodore's efforts to secure setup advance base on Dromini VI. Afterwards, they it left the planet, passing a inbound Lyran raiding force on 15th of September.[10]

On the 24th October, the unit finally catches up with the Hounds. They came to find them engaged in battle for the last twenty hours with 5th Sword of Light, whom commander came to steal Yorinaga Kurita victory.[11] The Genyosha arrived on desert battlefield where they found litter of the 5th Sword and some of Kell Hound's 'Mech string along the ground. Make shift area had been made in part battlefield where 5th's commander Conti fought 3rd Battalion commander Scott Bradley in bid to avenge he lost to Conti on Northwind.

After Conti's defeat, Lord Kurita and Colonel Kell finally duelled in the make-shift arena, fighting in form of a busidio samurai duel. Two fought unlike anyone had seen, resulting Yorinaga's defeat with Morgan Kell bowing his Archer to Yorinaga.

Genyosha staff witnessed their beloved leader, Lord Kurita's seppuku cermony with the Hounds and the 5th Sword survivors. After the cermonial suicide Rasalhaguan blooded Genyosha members left the Genyosha in lead of Yorinaga's son Akira to join the Kell Hounds.
