Star League Era

With the resurgence of interest in Japanese culture, the local Moslem population rose up in rebellious protest against the forces teaching of Buddhism in the schools. This was met with swift vengeance by ISF who used brutal tactics to get rid of foreign influences.[7]

Jihad

On the 12th of February 3071 Arkab was struck by an asteroid strike that devastated the local population, killing tens of thousands and leading to an urgent appeal from the Azami to the Draconis Combine government for aid. At the time, there was no response from the Combine authorities, who were dealing with attacks from inside and outside the Draconis Combine.[13] Given the existence of the Word of Blake Erinyes vessel and its implicit - or explicit - involvement in the asteroid bombardment of Lopez and Taurus during the Jihad, it may be that the asteroid strike on Arkab was not a natural phenomenon.
