System Description
The Placida system was located near the Beowulf and Sigurd systems.[3][4][1][2]
System History
Placida was either settled during the Third Succession War or was an already-inhabited system that became significant enough during this era for Inner Sphere nations to begin recording its location on maps.[5][6][7]

Planetary History
Clan Invasion
At the start of the Clan Invasion in August 3049 Placida was attacked by the Bronze Keshik of the Clan Wolf Gamma Galaxy. A majority of the planet's defenders, the Placidia Guards, were caught completely off-guard by the attack and the unit was destroyed during fighting on the Usilic Ridge.[32]
Dark Age
In 3083 the Ferris Rebellion caused the Clans to withdraw from most of their Periphery holdings. The Hell's Horses had used Oberon IV as an administrative world, and when the Clan left the area in 3086, the administrators of that world formed the New Oberon Confederation. Placida was one of five systems to join the new polity.[30]
