The Zertarum system was the location of at least one habitable world or construct and as of 2571 was located in the Apollo Province of the Rim Worlds Republic.[1][2]

Zertarum is located near Bensinger and Blackstone.[3][4]

System History[edit]

The Zertarum system was settled before or during the Age of War[1][2] and vanished from maps during the Third Succession War.[5][6]

Reunification War[edit]

Civil war erupted in the Rim Worlds Republic in 2575, with the factions polarized around those loyal to First Consul Gregory Amaris and those loyal to the Rift Republican Army and the Rim Provisional Government.[38]

The Star League eventually decided to intervene in the civil war in support of Gregory Amaris, and in 2579 assembled a multinational force headed by the Star League Defense Force to help secure Amaris' control over the Rim Worlds Republic.[39] Assigned to the conquest of Zertarum was the entire SLDF VIII Corps. Although listed as a Corps, at the time it consisted of only two divisions—the Thirty-first Armor Division and the Thirty-second Division—although this was enough military strength for the Star League to successfully take control of Zertarum in 2592.[40] VII Corps remained in place as the local garrison until the Thirty-first was redeployed for the invasion of Cryfder in 2593 and the Thirty-second was redeployed for the invasion of Battaraigi a year later.[41]
