Prior to the Ghost Bear's attack the [[Blue Lightning]] mercenary company was in-system but their [[JumpShip]] experienced technical difficulties, stranding them on the planet; when the planetary government pleaded with them to come to their aid, the mercenaries had little choice. The Kaesong system is the location of at least one habitable world and as of June 3152 was located in the Skandia Province within the Rasalhague Dominion.[1]

Planetary History[edit]

Clan Invasion[edit]

The planet was conquered by Clan Ghost Bear in December 3051, part of the fifth wave of the renewed Clan Invasion. Prior to the Ghost Bear's attack the Blue Lightning mercenary company was in-system but their JumpShip experienced technical difficulties, stranding them on the planet; when the planetary government pleaded with them to come to their aid, the mercenaries had little choice. This caused more harm than good though as, knowing they faced dezgra mercenaries, Star Colonel Dane Jorgensson skipped the bidding process entirely and sent in the elite Trinary Command of his 14th Battle Cluster to hunt the enemy down. They pursued Blue Lighting to the streets of Vedsan and destroyed the mercenaries utterly.[36]

At some unspecified point in time heavily implied to also have been in December of 3051, Gideon Braver and the Blazing Aces, under contract on Kaesong (but apparently not working for the planetary government), perished against the Fourteenth Battle Cluster.[37]

Dark Age[edit]

In 3148, the magistrate of Vangelis City, after petitions to the dual rulers of the Rasalhague Dominion failed, hired the Fox Patrol to hunt down local bandits. The bandits, led by a failed Ghost Bear MechWarrior, had attacked convoys in the area. Once the Fox Patrol completed the job in December, the magistrate refused to pay.[34]
