Black Thorn Raid

In July 3057, the Combine employed Black Thorns mercenary unit launched a raid against a nearly completed factory complex on Clan Nova Cat-held Courchevel. Unfortunately for the mercenaries, Nova Cat OmniFighters succeeded in crippling their DropShip on approach and forced a scattered combat drop onto the world, with the newly arrived front-line 46th Nova Cat Cavaliers leading the charge to capture them as the Nova Cats' Fourteenth Garrison Cluster took and repaired their DropShip. While unable to destroy the factory, the battered Black Thorns were able to reclaim their DropShip and escape off-world after their commander Jeremiah Rose defeated the Fourteenth Garrison Cluster's Elemental commander in single combat. [20] [21]

Operation Bulldog

Courchevel was among the Nova Cat worlds "invaded" as part of Operation Bulldog's second wave in July 3059. The Trial of Possession for the world was to be decided via a gunnery contest between the 46th Nova Cat Cavaliers CO Star Colonel Mill Watson and Ryuken-roku's Tai-sa Alexis Vanharobik as per a prearranged batchall. Meeting on the Gasperri Plains where the Nova Cats had arranged a one-kilometer gunnery range, both participants put on a startling display of skill, but Star Colonel Watson and his Nova Cat conceded when Katana Cluster-holder Vanharobik's hit the final bull's-eye at more than six hundred meters with both his Gunslinger's Gauss Rifles while at the apex of a sixty-meter jump.
