The Baccalieu system is home to at least one habitable planet and as of 3145, is located in the Marian Hegemony.[1][2]

System Description

The Baccalieu system is located near the Ballalaba and Suetonius systems.[1][2]

System History

It is unclear when the Baccalieu system was colonized, but with the founding of the Marian Hegemony in 2930, Baccalieu began appearing on maps produced by Inner Sphere nations,[3] indicating that the system had become significant enough to merit being recorded.

In or around 3144, a slaver operation from Baccalieu raided the Magistracy of Canopus world of Ballad II, abducting over a thousand Magistracy citizens. This prompted the Magistracy Armed Forces to dispatch the First Magistracy Highlanders on a series of punitive deep raids into the Hegemony. The Highlanders spent almost a year working independently, smashing the slaver operation on Baccalieu and recovering all of the abducted citizens.[32]
