The database of the (apocryphal) 1989 video game MechWarrior, set around the year 3025, gives a population of 879 million for Valloire and describes the environment as "tropical" (out of only three broad impressions of planetary environments given in the game, these being "desert", "ice", or "tropical"). The description one-liner reads "Producer of the best teas in the Commonwealth."

Planetary History

Valloire was one of a number of worlds conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the First Succession War as part of a two-pronged invasion of the Free Worlds League that threatened to capture the important industrial world of Acrux. Captain-General Thaddeus Marik attempted to launch a campaign in 2811 aimed at retaking Valloire, along with a number of other captured worlds including Binyang, Danxian and Radostov, but his campaign failed almost at the outset when his forces failed to defeat the crack Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces regiment known as The Stealths at Poulsbo, taking numerous losses in the process and ultimately causing the campaign to be called off.[10]
