The Wazan system was home to at least one habitable world or construct and as of 3145 was located in the Sarna Commonality of the Capellan Confederation.[1][2]

System Description[edit]

The Wazan system is located near the Old Kentucky and Phact systems.[3]

System History[edit]

The Wazan system was settled during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was a member of the Sarna Supremacy prior to the foundation of the Capellan Confederation in the mid-twenty-fourth century.[4]

Planetary History[edit]

First Succession War[edit]

Having secured a number of worlds from the remains of the Terran Hegemony, Captain-General Kenyon Marik deployed ten regiments from the Marik Militia brigade to launch an invasion of the Capellan Confederation; their goal was to "clear a route ten parsecs wide to Sarna." Both Corey and Wazan fell quickly to the Marik Militia forces, with few of the Capellan garrisons offering much resistance.[12]

Chancellor Barbara Liao was unwilling to concede control of the worlds easily, however; she launched a counterattack against the world of New Delos, which was a Free Worlds League Military staging area, and put blockades in place over both the Corey and Wazan systems, as well as ordering an attack on Calloway VI in 2780. These efforts were despite Kenyon Marik ordering his forces to conduct attacks that saw the worlds of Hall, Ingersoll, New Canton and Outreach firebombed in retaliation for the New Delos attack and in an effort to disrupt the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces efforts to send reinforcements to Corey and Wazan.[12]

The Capellan siege of both Corey and Wazan ended when FWLM forces in the Calloway system detected and ambushed the Capellan forces attempting to launch their attack, leading to several years where the war went almost completely in favor of House Marik.[12]

Fourth Succession War[edit]

Following the speech given by First Prince Hanse Davion on the 16th of November 3029, the official day of thanks in the Federated Suns, contained a number of revelations including the creation of the St. Ives Compact and was taken by many as an open sign that the Fourth Succession War was close to ending.[39] The Armed Forces of the Federated Suns launched the Seventh Wave of Operation RAT shortly after, in a determined effort to secure as many systems as possible for an armistice was declared. The Seventh Wave capitalized on negotiations that had been conducted in secret between the Federated Suns and various planetary governments in the remnants of the Sarna Commonality who lacked defenses and were far more fearful of being annexed by the Free Worlds League, a state hated for centuries of raids and invasions, than they were the Federated Suns. In the last week of November the AFFS occupied thirteen systems, including Wazan. The AFFS encountered little resistance, and relatively few troops were needed to provide a garrison to maintain calm.[20]
