Early History
Berenson was notionally a client state of the Capellan Hegemony prior to the war between the Hegemony and the Sarna Supremacy in the early 24th century, but in 2306 Prime Magnate Paula Aris of the Hegemony negotiated with the Free Worlds League to obtain military support for the war against the Supremacy in exchange for Capellan support for various League territorial campaigns. Rather than be drawn into a damaging conflict, as had happened elsewhere on the Free Worlds League front, Rousset-Marik withdrew until Group II reinforced Group I, and then the combined forces of both Groups assaulted Berenson, conquering the planet quickly.[7]
