In mid-2804, Captain-General Thaddeus Marik withdrew all of the federal troops from the Duchy of Oriente in retaliation for Duke Carter Allison objecting to Thaddeus' claim to the title of Captain-General of the Free Worlds League. When the Capellan Strategios was able to confirm the withdrawal of the Free Worlds League Military troops, they responded by immediately deploying forward troops from Anegasaki, Ipswich, and Pella II to assault systems within the Duchy, making swift gains.[23]
