The Westerhand system was home to at least one habitable world, Westerhand II, and as of June 3152 was located in the Duchy of Andurien.[2]

System Description[edit]

The Westerhand system is located near the Palladaine and Scarborough systems[3][4] and consists of a class G3V primary orbited by at least two planets. During the thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the system nadir jump point.[1]

System History[edit]

The Westerhand system was settled during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was a part of the Sian Commonwealth prior to the formation of the Capellan Commonwealth in the mid-twenty-fourth century.[5]

It was once known as a mercenary hub on par with Galatea and "Solaris VII of the Capellan Confederation." [6]

Westerhand II - more commonly known simply as Westerhand - is the second planet in the Westerhand system and has three moons named Delsia, Ralston and Vannora.[1]

Dark Age[edit]

During the years after the Jihad the Capellan government reopened the mercenary hiring hall on Westerhand (which had closed during the war). The hiring hall attracted numerous soldiers seeking to remain independent of national militaries. Partly to safeguard against potential rogue warriors and partly to vet applicants, the CCAF maintained a rotating garrison on the world.[38]

IlClan Era[edit]

Westerhand was one of the Capellan worlds seized by its supposed ally, the Duchy of Andurien, in the early weeks of 3152.[39]
