Planetary History[edit]
Star League Era[edit]
The world of Blue Diamond had the misfortune to be struck by a plague in 2766 that swept through the crops grown on the planet. At the time, Blue Diamond was close to the border between the Lyran Commonwealth and the Terran Hegemony, and the planetary leaders made the decision to approach the Hegemony for assistance rather than contacting Blue Diamond's closest significant Commonwealth neighbor. The elders from Blue Diamond set out for the Terran Hegemony world of Summer and were never heard from again. The plague continued to ravage Blue Diamond and a third of the total planetary population died before assistance from the Commonwealth could arrive to help; it was only much later that it was discovered that the elders had arrived in the Hegemony in the midst of the coup launched by Stefan Amaris, and that they had been captured by Rim Worlds Republic forces. The Republicans had tortured and executed the elders after declaring them to be Commonwealth spies.[31]
Dark Age Era[edit]
Blue Diamond was taken by Clan Jade Falcon forces and keep under his command most of the Dark Age Era.[32]
IlClan Era[edit]
After Malvina Hazen took almost all the falcon's forces to Terra, their occupation zone fell into chaos, and Blue Diamond wasn't an exception. A criminal warlord named Billy Talltree gathered forces and quickly took down all Falcon's remnants on planet, including their governor. He self-proclaimed himself President of Blue Diamond and ruled through the fear and intimidation.[33]
However, Talltree's rule was short: The 24 July 3151, a battalion of the 26th Arcturan Guards landed, posing as mercenaries, and attacked his forces, as he was stopping food to arrive to Arcturus. His terror regime ended in a day, and a liberated Blue Diamond gladly joined the reborn Tamar Pact.[34]

Notes[edit]
In House Steiner (The Lyran Commonwealth) it is noted that in 2766 a delegation was sent out to the Terran Hegemony planet instead of "Summer, its nearest Commonwealth neighbor". this is a likely error as Summer is some seven jumps away from Blue Diamond. The situation however makes sense if corrected to "Summer, its nearest Hegemony neighbor" because Summer would of been the nearest Hegemony world.[31]
