Planetary History

First Succession War

Emporia was invaded during the first half of the major invasion into the Federated Suns launched by the Draconis Combine in May 2787.[10] Emporia was liberated by the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns in 2817, as part of the third and final major AFFS counter-offensive of the First Succession War against the Draconis Combine.[11]

In 3150, the renegade Seventh Ghost Regiment moved to capture Emporia, hoping to turn it into a base for their independent empire-to-be.

Planetary Rulers

By 3150, House Ritza was the ruling noble house on Emporia, with a number of other houses below them.

Geography

Emporia is considered an agrarian planet with an abundance of land, but its axial tilt gives them a short growing season with a relatively small percentage of land. Over sixty percent of the land is not suited for crops, and few herd animals were considered hardy enough to thrive in its mountains.[32] The overall impression given was that the planet was self-sufficient, but unable to export notable amounts of food.
