Planetary History[edit]

Third Succession War[edit]

Upon entering into employment with the Free Worlds League in 3015, Wolf's Dragoons were assigned to Sterling for them to use as a home base.[15]

Dark Age[edit]

The Sixth Marik Protectors was destroyed during Operation HAMMERFALL while defending Sterling against the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces.[37] The planet was subsequently conquered by Clan Wolf in 3141 when they turned upon their Lyran allies. The independent-minded inhabitants bided their time and awaited a chance to reclaim their freedom.[33]

IlClan Era[edit]

Word of the IlClan's establishment on Terra initially cooled the ardor for independence, but by November 3151 Sterling's resistance leaders concluded that the time to strike was at hand while the ilClan remained out of the picture. Within just two days the Wolves' rule was overthrown and Sterling claimed its independence once more. Lacking the resources to crush the rebellion, Star Colonel Othar chose to abandon Sterling for the time being.[33]
