Angol was first settled by prisoners and other "undesirables" from nearby Tikonov. These involuntary colonists extracted rare metals from the planet's surface for use in Tikonov's factories. Angol joined the Terran Hegemony when Tikonov and its allied worlds joined the Capellan Confederation. After the fall of the Star League the Federated Suns claimed the system. During the Succession Wars, the system was rapidly built up and its military garrison increased for use as a staging base for AFFS raids into Confederation space. It remained part of the Federated Suns until after the Jihad.[1]

Angol was targetted by forces from the allied coalition against the Word of Blake, with allied forces assaulting the planet on the 9th of September 3076.[31][32]
