System Description[edit]
The Bethel system is located close to the Andro and Knutdor systems.[3]
The system's third planet is a gas giant.[4]
The inhabited planet in the Bethel system is an open-environment world.[citation needed]
System History[edit]
The Bethel system was colonized during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was an independent system within the Capellan Zone prior to joining the Capellan Confederation when the Confederation formed.[5]

Planetary History[edit]
Fourth Succession War[edit]
Bethel was the target of Operation INTRUDERS COMMUNION, a Capellan raid on a classified NAIS laboratory.[35][36] On 9 April 3029, a strike force led by Justin Xiang and a team of Maskirovka agents hit the covert NAIS lab at Fort David while two companies of the Fourth Tau Ceti Rangers distracted Davion Light Guards's Delta Company with a feint towards the reactor-assembly plant at Oakland, Bethel's primary industrial center on the other side of the planet.[37][38] Justin and his team manage to penetrate the facility's security, sedate the researchers, and obtain experimental myomer fibers.[39]
Jihad[edit]
During the Jihad, Bethel was the site of one of the more ignoble Word of Blake defeats; while conducting a heavy raid against Bethel on 22 November 3070, the Blakist raiders miscalled a nuclear strike, bringing the nuclear attack down on their own position and effectively destroying themselves.[40]

Geography[edit]
In the MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries High Reward Quest "The Conspirators," Bethel is depicted as an arid canyon biome with reduced visibility.[44]
Planetary Locations[edit]
- Oakland: Industrial center of Bethel, site of metal and plastics manufacturing facilities and a reactor-assembly plant.[35][36][37]
- Fort David: AFFS military installation on the opposite side of the planet from Oakland. The TerraDyne Corporation's manufacturing facilities which housed a covert NAIS research laboratory were located at the fort.[35][36][37]
Companies and Industries[edit]
- TerraDyne Corporation: Ostensibly an electronics factory producing electronics for civilian computers, it held a secret research facility associated with the NAIS.[37][4][35]
