The Fort Loudon system was the location of at least one inhabited world, Fort Loudon III, and as of June 3152 was located in the Skandia Province of the Rasalhague Dominion.
System Description[edit]
Fort Loudon is located near the Jabuka and Karbala systems[2][3] and consists of a class G6III primary orbited by at least three planets. During the thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the system nadir jump point.[1]
System History[edit]
The Fort Loudon system was colonized in 2460 by the Lyran Commonwealth.[1] Fort Loudon subsequently disappeared from maps during the Age of War,[4] reappearing during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War,[5][6] suggesting that the system had been abandoned or depopulated and then later recolonized.

Fort Loudon III, more commonly known simply as Fort Loudon, has a single moon named Précis and was an important strategic world for the Lyran Commonwealth for much of its history.[1]
Planetary History[edit]
Early History[edit]
Fort Loudon was first settled in 2460. The planet was initially named LC/T-2395, but was renamed to honor Captain Calvin Loudon for his actions on Nox in 2465, wherein he saved his command at the cost of his life.[1] Although Fort Loudon was colonized in 2460,[1] by 2571 it had vanished from maps, suggesting that it had been abandoned or depopulated during the Age of War.[4]
Star League Era[edit]
During the Star League era, the Star League Defense Force stationed the 123rd Infantry Division at Fortress Loudon, a Castle Brian that remained operational through the Succession Wars and Clan Invasion.[1]
Succession Wars[edit]
The Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces made extensive use of Fortress Loudon and Fort Loudon's strategic position to raid the Draconis Combine and the Clan occupation zones.[1]
The Jihad[edit]
Clan Wolf attacked and conquered Fort Loudon during the second half of January 3070 as one of a series of assaults into Lyran Alliance space, shadowing the path taken by Clan Jade Falcon, who were also using the disruption caused by the Jihad to annex a number of Lyran worlds.[29]
Dark Age[edit]
In 3108, Fort Loudon was the scene of a raid by the Rasalhague Dominion intended - in connection with a simultaneous attack on Borghese by Clan Wolf-in-Exile - to test the Mongrel that had been jointly developed by the two parties. The Fifth Bear Guards deployed a Star of Mongrels against seven Wolf Points in the Palisade Highlands and succeeded in defeating them at the cost of four 'Mechs, one of which was taken as isorla by the Wolf commander.[39]
Abandoned by Clan Wolf in 3137 when the Wolves migrated towards the Free Worlds League, by 3140 Fort Loudon had been annexed by the Rasalhague Dominion.[36]
IlClan Era[edit]
When the plebiscite to join the reborn Star League created strife across the Dominion, Fort Loudon was one of the worlds split between Joiners and Deniers. The Wolves' departure from the planet caused lingering resentment in some quarters which countered the enthusiasm of those wishing to join the Wolf-led Star League. In October 3151 the First Hussars Cluster began coming down on the Denier side, prompting Joiners to establish guerilla bands in the jungles and then attack the Hussars. When a reprisal attack by the Hussars resulted in an entire village being razed, the entire world exploded into civil war with the Hussars unable to quell the violence.[40]
The fighting lasted into early 3152, when the First Drakøns and Ghost Bear Watch arrived and deposed both the Hussars' leaders and the civilian governor.[41]
Military Deployment[edit]
Geography[edit]
Fort Loudon has three continents named Anderssen, Brunei, and Tunisonda. All three are located largely in the equatorial regions of the planet; Brunei has substantial deposits of rare metals within its jungle mountains, while the foothills of the Dover Mountains range on Anderssen have veins of gold and platinum. The largest continent, Tunisonda, has the most arable land of the three continents.[1]
Planetary Locations[edit]

- Palisade Highlands[39]
- Palos: the planetary capital city, located on Anderssen[1]
- Fortress Loudon: a Star League era Castle Brian operational until at least the late thirty-first century[1]
