Gyrfalcons were forbidden by their Khans from using orbital bombardment on the planet's defenders. The Galaxy would be forced to take the battle to the tunnels of the Forty-Niner Mines. Following orders to keep the planet's mines intact, Gyrfalcon's campaign to take control of the the planet would be prolonged for months.[9]
