Planetary History
Milton began its fast growth as a near-paradise planet. When the industry on Milton was at its peak suddenly Terra ceased all trade with worlds further than one jump away.[1] When Director-General James McKenna began his third "campaign of persuasion" in 2333 to annex former Terran Alliance colonies and bring them into the Terran Hegemony, Milton was the second planet to be targeted by the Hegemony Armed Forces.[3]
The Terran Hegemony later used Milton's trade problems as a part of the campaign to reintegrate the planet, and soon industy begun to develop again, until the moment the Amaris Civil War began. Amaris' troops pillaged Milton's industry, leading to its slow collapse. During the Succession Wars battles between the Free Worlds League and the Lyran Commonwealth led to the destruction of all industry on the Phronx and Selajia continents leading to their total biological and chemical contamination. In contrast to the Succession Wars, during the Jihad Milton avoided any significant damage leading to major industrial growth later on.[1]
Jihad
Following the invasion of the Free Worlds League by the Skye and Bolan Provinces of the Lyran Alliance in what was termed Operation ÜBERSCHATTEN, Marshall Jeremy Brett took command of the local FWLM and launched a counteroffensive, under the name Operation BROKEN FIST. BROKEN FIST went beyond simply attempting to recapture worlds that the Lyrans had seized, striking into Lyran space at numerous worlds. Milton was one of the worlds hit and was captured by the League on the 1st of September 3068.[7] Milton was subsequently incorporated into the Word of Blake Protectorate, and later liberated by troops fighting on the Lyran front of Operation SCOUR in January 3078.[8]
Planetary Info
Milton has four continents named Selajia (southern hemisphere), Olquia, Phronx, and Etienne (in the northern hemisphere). It was settled for the large amount of industrial metals and radioactive materials present in its crust.[1]
