The new House Ijori preferred strategy that involves infiltrating a target planet in secret, ideally months before they even begin operations. Other operations they favor involve landing openly, only to disappear into the wilderness for weeks before launching their attacks. History[edit]

Formation[edit]

Founded by Kasei Ijori, Warrior House Ijori is based on Han philosophies including Confucianism, Taoism and the Lorix Order.

Fourth Succession War[edit]

In the Fourth Succession War, the unit lost its Second Battalion in the failed defense of Aldebaran against the combined forces of three Davion unit which were the Fourth Deneb Light Cavalry, Fourth Davion Guards and Redfield Renegades. The First Battalion (which retreated of world) was later destroyed on Basalt where they took part in Operation RIPOSTE.[1] On Basalt they faced the Fourth Crucis Lancers, and inflicted heavy damage on the city of Conrossa.[2]

Andurien/Canopus Invasion[edit]

In 3031 the unit fought on Jasmine against the Fifth Defenders of Andurien in what was called the Battle of Jasmine.[3]

In 3035, the Warrior House was stationed on Gei-Fu along with the Fourth McCarron's Armored Cavalry. There the two units faced off against the Black Widow Battalion, defending the home base of the Warrior House's First Battalion. This facility held arms, equipment, and other military supplies, but also served as a precious metals depository. The Widows held off the CCAF units long enough for Seventh Kommando troops to infiltrate the base and plant explosives in the munitions lockers. The resulting blast destroyed the First Battalion of the Warrior House and registered as a 7.5 earthquake on seismometers. The Widows then engaged the Second Battalion until reducing it to less than 20% operation.[4]

War of 3039[edit]

Operation GUERRERO[edit]

  • Spearheaded the successful Liao-Marik offensive of 3057

Posting to the Arc-Royal Defense Cordon[edit]

In the wake of Guerrero the Maskirovka discovered evidence that House Ijori had been infiltrated by elements of the Kali Liao led Thuggee assassin cult, apparently bypassing Maskirovka and Ijori security checks by indoctrinating children aged between six and ten prior joining the House.[5]

Much like the CCAF sent Warrior House Lu Sann into the Chaos March in an attempt to remove disloyal elements, Grand Master Ion Rush and Zhan "loaned" House Ijori to the Lyran Alliance to assist in the efforts against the Clans, who promptly seconded them to the Arc-Royal Defense Cordon. Eager to test their mettle and prove the superiority of the Capellan military to AFFC and DCMS, Ijori launched a raid against Clan Steel Viper-held Goat Path, where the defending Viper Fusiliers were equally eager to prove no Inner Sphere power was greater than the other.[5][6][7]

The first Capellan unit to face the invaders prior to Operation BULLDOG, in a brutal two-week game of cat-and-mouse, both sides fruitlessly searched for an advantage against the other, both suffering heavy losses before the Warrior House finally withdrew. Unfortunately while thinning the Ijori ranks, the raid did not succeed in eliminating the Thuggee infestation, with combat losses allowing surviving cultists to rise even higher within the House, two reaching the rank of company leader.[5][6][7]

Xin Sheng Campaign[edit]

During the Xin Sheng Campaign in the wake of the Black May attacks on Wei, the Thuggee elements within Ijori received a shipment of the same nerve agent and made plans to strike St. Ives, only for an infantry platoon leader discovering the plot and warning House Master Sibelius and local Confederation nobles. Soon afterward a short and brutal fight broke out in the Ijori compound which ended after a loyal MechWarrior managed to smash open one of the containers of nerve agent, killing himself and fifty other Ijori warriors but ensuring no Thuggee escaped.[5]

  • Based on Jasmine as of 3063, the House is currently in disgrace and barred from displaying their colors and emblem or wearing parade dress.

Jihad[edit]

During the opening waves of Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE the Warrior House Ijori faced the First Federated Suns Lancers on Overton. The elite AFFS unit mauled the Warrior House unit, and it spent several years in the interior of the Confederation rebuilding its forces and repelling smaller raids.[8]

Overton would remain in the hands of George Hasek II, until the Capellan counteroffensive, Operation THUNDERSTRIKE in October 3068, when the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces Fifteenth Dracon and the remains of Warrior House Ijori retook the world, but suffered heavy losses, but they did force the First Federated Suns Lancers to retreat off world.[9]

Warrior House Ijori landed on Ningpo in 3077 to supplement Warrior House Ma-Tsu Kai and the home guard units against the Blaikst's Thirteenth Division. Though they forced the Blakists to leave the world, the Ijoris suffered horrific losses when the departing Blakist DropShips strafed their positions.[10][8]

Republic Era[edit]

During the formation of the Republic of the Sphere, Warrior House Ijori resisted the Stone's Brigade assault on Liao. Despite their best efforts, the Warrior House was completely destroyed.[11]

Dark Age[edit]

In 3134 the Ijori Dè Guāng resistance movement took advantage of two decades of unrest on Liao and the Blackout. After six years of small, irregular attacks, they coordinated their strikes with the arrival of the Dynasty Guard and Second McCarron's Armored Cavalry on the world. After fighting alongside the Second MAC, Dynasty Guard, and students from the Liao Conservatory of Military Arts against the Republic of the Sphere's V Principes Guards and V Triarii Protectors, they liberated Liao from the Republic.[12] The surviving Ijori Dè Guāng were used to form the core of the new Warrior House Ijori.[13][11] The Chancellor declared that Liao was the new homeworld of the reborn Warrior House.[14]

After their formation, the newly created warrior house spent ten years preparing for combat.[11] This training paid off as Warrior House Ijori seized Demeter in 3144.[15][16] During this assault they were supported by the Third Tikonov Guards.[17]

In 3149, Ijori was one of the Warrior Houses leading the Capellan invasion of Fortress Republic, taking easily the planet Terra Firma.[18]

Tactics[edit]

The old House Ijori preferred defensive battles, because it was largely dependent on infantry which excelled in the narrow confines of cities. They also tended to use VTOL fighters which specialized in low passing, point-blank bombings.[20]

The new House Ijori preferred strategy that involves infiltrating a target planet in secret, ideally months before they even begin operations. Other operations they favor involve landing openly, only to disappear into the wilderness for weeks before launching their attacks. Either way, House Ijori tries not to engage in open battles, preferring instead to disperse and wear down their opponents with repeated ambushes, often backed by locally recruited guerrillas.[21]
