Star League Era

The Third Lyran Guards were in place on the Black Rock continent on Orkney in 2765, a desolate punishment posting assigned to them by the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces High Command as a consequence of the regiment deciding to "bolster relations" with a Canopian pleasure circus. Also present were a special medical team and the LIC, working through the repercussions of the Third's Canopian encounter.[31]

Clan Invasion Era

The 1st Falcon Striker (Clan Jade Falcon) took Orkney in November 3051.[32] In December 3051 the 104th Assault (Clan Steel Viper) was deployed in a Trial of Possession, resulting in a draw.[33][34] The two Clans shared possession of the planet until the Battle of Tukayyid, when Clan Jade Falcon left all of Orkney to Clan Steel Viper.[35]

The Jihad

Clan Wolf used the attacks on the Lyran Alliance launched by Clan Jade Falcon during the Jihad to launch their own series of planetary conquests, typically shadowing the Jade Falcon advance. A wave of attacks saw the Wolves capture Orkney, along with Domain, Jabuka, La Grave and Rasalgethi, through the first week of October 3069.[36]
