Planetary History[edit]
Third Succession War[edit]
Wolf's Dragoons forces fought an engagement with the Eridani Light Horse on New Aberdeen in 3024 for three months. The Black Widow Company won a significant victory in a small skirmish against a company led by Captain Anton Stedman after luring them out of their defensive positions on The Firth, a large freshwater lake, and then ambushing them fifty kilometers from Firthaven.[4][50]
Fourth Succession War[edit]
Following the lull in major offensives in early 3029, a number of new offensives began as the Fourth Succession War entered its second year. In early July 3029 Coordinator Takashi Kurita moved to Irurzun from Luthien and took more of an interest in combat actions on the border between the Draconis Combine and Federated Suns than he had earlier in the war, where his attention had been almost completely focused on Wolf's Dragoons. Ten days after arriving on Irurzun Takashi had drafted and launched a new offensive aimed at securing more worlds from the Federated Suns, and New Aberdeen was one of those worlds. Left isolated by the fall of Harrow's Sun, New Aberdeen was swiftly captured by the DCMS.[27]
Dark Ages[edit]
Throughout the Republic era New Aberdeen was one of the Draconis Reach worlds disputed between the Combine and the Draconis March.[47] The stalemate briefly ended in 3139 when Wolf's Dragoons, in service to the Combine, attacked New Aberdeen as part of a successful bid to secure the Reach once and for all.[48]
New Aberdeen again became a contested system during Operation PELAYO, when the planet was fought over between July 3141 and January 3144. The fighting ended once more in retreat for the Federated Suns forces.[49]
