Peacekeeper[edit]

Hi Doneve. I am confused why you removed the RS:3085 Cutting the Edge wikilink from article. There was no information in the article violate the moratorium period. I don't believe mentioning the Record Sheet book would break moratorium if listed in the bibliography. -- Wrangler 20:42, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

I think, we don't put publications as biblio link, there have not the moratorium expired, some people where confused about this, it is my mention, but it is a good goal to start a discussion about this theme, thanks.--Doneve 20:53, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Doneve - Your image additions to my articles (like Vasily Cherenkoff) are always appreciated. Have a Random Act of Appreciation Award, 4th ribbon. Thanks! ClanWolverine101 19:50, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Infantry Infobox 2[edit]

Doneve, hold off on using the Infantry Infobox for a while. I'm still squishing bugs.--Mbear 16:34, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

No problem, i have other projects to finished, my intention was to bring at first a Infantry Unit Infobox, to sarna.net, thanks.--Doneve 16:37, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Infantry infobox 3[edit]

OK. It's ready now.--Mbear 16:45, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

I've removed the Equipment row from the infobox per your request.--Mbear 20:11, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Looking for an Image[edit]

Hey Doneve - In the Wolf Clan Sourcebook, there is a picture of an Atlas going down against some Elementals. This is the "death scene" of Selvin Kelswa, and I wanted to add it to his article. Might you have access to it? Thanks. ClanWolverine101 04:45, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Hey ClanWolverine101, I find the picture and loaded it up => File:Oncemithymech.png. Enjoy it and have fun. Neuling 06:05, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! ClanWolverine101 15:52, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

another infobox, please[edit]

Hey Doneve, tnx first for your great help by the development of the infantry infobox. With this fast success in mind another idea emerged from my mind. I will inlcude the data into a infobox

Weapon / Item
Cost
Availability
Introduced (Affiliation)
Extinction
Reintroduced (Affiliation)

In my opinion it will improve the knowledge of technology and how to use it. I know this would be a great task but you now my, how bigthe task i will do it until its finished. TNX Neuling 07:15, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

References / Bio Pages[edit]

Hey Doneve - Why drop the references to bio pages? Example : Selvin Kelswa. The purpose of putting those up is to tell people that there is an actual bio on the character in that book and on that page. Is this policy? ClanWolverine101 03:39, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Hy CW101, take a look on this Help:References, i want to bring all needed or missed references to one wiki standard, and put to needed setions the ref. notes.--Doneve 09:25, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

AHHHHH[edit]

Ahh, i lost all of my database yesterday, i works on sarna.net (and a total system interuption) occured, was this a sarna.net problem. Or may i was hacked, any thoughts, thanks.--Doneve 10:46, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Doneve - I see messages on the front about the CBT forum? Maybe its that? Good luck! ClanWolverine101 02:51, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Canon Maps[edit]

Hi Doneve, hope your doing well. I recently noticed edited canon maps that were originally produced by Øystein Tvedten. I realize your modifing these maps, please still credit the artist who produced them. The sourcebook clearly credits Mr. Tvedten as being only Map maker in the book. I've all added the notes to these modified map images, that they are edited, not quite the original. I've also added missing category info. I'm sorry if sound rude, but please make sure you keep adding categories, artist info, regardless if its modified. Its not quite fandom, but its still should be noted you changed picture. If you think i'm wrong, please ask one the administrators about this. Take care -- Wrangler 03:58, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

No you are not wrong, thanks for your catch.--Doneve 21:58, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Skye Maps[edit]

Hi Doneve, what do you think about the gains and loses of the province over the years? I think it is helpful to know which planets are former territory and was reconquered over the centuries from the DCMS/FWLM. Neuling 13:46, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Very good idea, but please talk to ClanWolverine what he think about this, if you put the info in the Federation of Skye article, or you create a new article, then we linking it to the proper page.--Doneve 13:57, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Neuling - Certainly, that sort of perspective is a minor drawback to cropping the maps, but cropping gives you a better sense of the growth of the district itself. The original maps, of course, are snap shots taken immediately following each Succession War. As to the Federation, I have a convo going on Talk:Isle of Skye that I think starts to address that issue. ClanWolverine101 14:52, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Opinions[edit]

Hey Doneve, I will discuss 2 opinions with. First what is your opinion to my rework with the tables and Second can you please give me a resaon why you don't anwser me. I think I had novething doing wrong or exits other reasons that are anknown to me... Neuling 14:14, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Notes within References[edit]

Evening, Doneve: I thought I'd share this example with you regarding references, since -like me- you do a lot of corrective edits to references. In this case, we have the source title in italics, comma, page number, comma, source article title in "quotations". The source article title is copied exactly as it is used in the source material. If notes by the member are added to the reference, we put in a colon (:) and then the note. No periods (.) are used to finish it off. Does that make sense?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 21:59, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Hy Revanche, good catch, i agree with you, and i think we can use it.--Doneve 22:08, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Great, thanks!--Revanche (talk|contribs) 22:36, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Variants + Brigades[edit]

Hey Doneve, thnaks for such kind words. Please take a look at the Marauder - page and to the DCMS - page and give my your Oinion about it. Neuling 12:09, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Planet rewrites[edit]

Doneve, have we established consensus on replacing the Owner History section of planets with a single column table? I thought we weren't doing that.--Mbear 17:40, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

No, there was no consensus, i forgot it, i stard it on the WikiProject Planet page, sorry.--Doneve 17:48, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
No problem. Just wanted to be sure that we were all on the same page.--Mbear 18:14, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Owner History CSS[edit]

Doneve,

I need your help testing something. Please paste this CSS code in your Custom CSS file.

Your custom CSS file can be found by clicking the My Preferences link, selecting Skin and then clicking the Custom CSS link next to your selected theme. Edit the page by following the link, then paste this code in there.

/* This is a CSS comment. It will be ignored by the parser.*/
/* Find an unordered list inside a DIV tag that has a CSS class of ownerhistory. */
div.ownerhistory ul
{
	border-width:1px;
	border-style:solid;
	border-color:#000;/* this is set via hexidecimal values, but can use RGB as well. See http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_colors.asp */
	width:250px;
}

/* Modify the items in the unordered list contained in the DIV tag with CSS class ownerhistory. */
div.ownerhistory ul li
{
	/* Remove the bullets */
	list-style-type:none;
	/*Set up border*/
	border-width:1px;
	border-style:solid;
	border-color:#000;/* this is set via hexidecimal values, but can use RGB as well. See http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_colors.asp */

	/* center the text */
	text-align:center;

	/* close the gaps between list items (If this isn't here, you get weird white spaces between the list items */
	margin:0;

	/*
	If the cells are too "tight" around the text, uncomment these lines to give the text more "breathing room."
	I've specified the sides individually here so you can tweak to your preferences. (To uncomment just remove the / * and * / from the lines below
	*/

	/*padding-top: 2px;*/
	/*padding-right: 2px;*/
	/*padding-bottom: 2px;*/
	/*padding-left:2px;*/
}

Now visit the Shiloh page. You should see the Owner History section in a pseudo-table format.--Mbear 12:11, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Hy Mbear, thanks for the code, it works, please can you change the box colour, then we have the same colour like the nearby planets table,thanks. --Doneve 12:38, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
To change the color, just open the CSS file you created earlier and replace the #000 with #aaa.--Mbear 12:56, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
OK. Now for part 2. On each planet, you'll need to add some code so the CSS knows to apply itself. Go to a planet page and find the Owner History section. Put this line between the Owner History section and the first item in the list:
<div class="ownerhistory">
at the end of the list, put a closing div tag, like this:
</div>
That markup, combined with the CSS I provided, should give you the formatting you're looking for without disrupting the presentation for other users.
And if you'd let Neuling know about this, I'd appreciate it.--Mbear 12:54, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Okidoky, i talk to Neuling about the CSS code.--Doneve 13:11, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Ok i change the colour code in the CSS code, but it don't work, where is my failur.--Doneve 13:46, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
What part are you trying to change? The outer border of the list or the lines between each entry in the list?--Mbear 15:28, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
I changed the border and lines!--Doneve 15:32, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Is that what you want? Or do you...OK. Nevermind. Just remember this:

To change the border update the div.ownerhistory ul border-color value.

To change the lines between items update the div.ownerhistory ul li border-color value.

That should do it.--Mbear 16:49, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
I changed the border colour to border-color:#D0D0D0 in the code, it don't works, i see allways the white style you are added in your CSS code.
Thnx for your information, I will think about it seriously.Neuling 14:53, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Composition History[edit]

Hey, will the changes include the entire military commands or only the DCMS? Neuling 16:31, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
The complete military commands section :).--Doneve 16:34, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
How can I support your effort?Neuling 16:36, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Doneve - Was hoping you could help me with these guys: 7th Lyran Regulars and 15th Lyran Regulars. Hoping their crests are in your database. :) ClanWolverine101 05:08, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Planetary coords/Teamspam IS Atlas[edit]

I must say I am not very happy about the IS Atlas being linked as a reference for system coords. For one, it is not a canonical source and should not be made up to be one. It is just a meta-source. Also, I feel that references should link to an article on this wiki about whatever the reference source is, not to an external data repository. Just sayin'. :) Frabby 11:43, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

I know, i revamp at the moment the nearby planets with a wikitable, and removed the IS Atlas links.--Doneve 11:50, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Castle Brian[edit]

Please take a look at the Castle Brian article and give me a short response about the tables what can be better or it is sufficient enough? Neuling 18:20, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Hy, very nice, the tables looks good, and i see the CSS works very well :).--Doneve 18:35, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Zeta Battalion[edit]

Hey Doneve - got a Unit Logo for Zeta Battalion? :) ClanWolverine101 05:28, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Request for factions[edit]

Hey Mbear, I have a questions about the different factions an their unique equipment availability. I think it is useful to mark every variant with icons or something this way to know how has access to the machines. And could we expande the space between the variant to see where the beginning is and where the end. Neuling 19:22, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Neuling, I think that's what the categories are for at the bottom of the unit pages. If a faction is listed, it has access to the 'Mech. A 'Mech with no factions listed is available to everyone.
Wait, I just re-read what you wrote. OK. So an example of your proposal would be putting a small Federated Suns logo in front of those variants listed as being a Federated Suns unit? Ummm...adding an icon to every variant is going to be a big task, and possibly discourage contributions from new editors.--Mbear 19:56, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Hy Mbear, i read this and i like the idea of Neuling, i would do this (give me the icons), and the hughe task can started.--Doneve 21:24, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, there are two problems with your request Doneve:
  1. Consensus has not been reached (as far as I know). Neuling, please make your suggestion on the Project BattleMechs Talk page so others can contribute.
  2. I don't have icon images yet. Until consensus is reached, I'm not going to make them. (I'll wait until I know the project has accepted the idea before making them.)--Mbear 01:16, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Military Project[edit]

Hey Doneve, please give my a short response to the forces overview of the discussion site of the military project. The DCMS table include the entier available forces deployment from housebook kurita (3025), war of 3039 (3040), 20 years update (3050), objectiv raids (3054), field manual dcms (3059), field manual updates (3067) and field report dcms. I think it is useful to see the developement of the dcms through the different time periods and when I counted right the Kanrei have only 30 regiments left at the end of the Jihad. The war had begun with 68 regiments. Neuling 21:23, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Hy Neuling, give me a while to check out this, and how we can meet the wiki standard, thanks.--Doneve 21:30, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Banshee Test[edit]

I have done the ref work but what is the best place for this kind of information. The manufacturer side is not the best because many variants are only field refits or individual modifications. Neuling 20:48, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Share Knowledge[edit]

Hey Doneve, exit away that you can share your knowledge about the solaris vii stables with me. Please give me a response.... Neuling 20:04, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

PDF "Covers"[edit]

I see you've been adding "cover" images for BattleCorps files. Hm. I appreciate your zeal, but really... what do we need these for? BC stories have little if any artwork, and these images certainly aren't any notable cover art. Frabby 17:53, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Hy Frabby, ok i stop it, i think it was good idea!--Doneve 17:56, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
I wouldn't (and couldn't) forbid you to do this if you want, but I don't think there is any point in making up plain text covers by copying the first page when there simply is no cover art. The simple fact is that BattleCorps doesn't have cover art for its stories. 07:28, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Formating[edit]

Hey, I recogize that some users have difficults with the capitals in my latest post. I will rework this with in the next days. Because of the references I will also explaine for what the terms stands for and as a side note. Many of the technology sites like Ferro-Fibrous have in the first postet table no references only the later addition include them. I will increase the quality of my work in the future. See ya next time... Neuling 20:59, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Hy thanks for your response, i contact you on next day, and give you my new icq ID, then we can talk in german, i wish you a good night.--Doneve 21:39, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Updated Game Rules CSS[edit]

Doneve,

With the new skins that are available, we need to update the way we're doing game rules sections. Instead of

<div style="background-color:#FFFFE0; border:1px solid #666; margin:1.5em 0 .5em 0; padding:0 .5em 0 1em; -moz-border-radius:.5em">

please use:

<div class="gamerules">

This allows the House skins to apply an appropriate color to the rules section, instead of everyone getting Davion gold.

Thanks!--Mbear 17:38, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Ah okidoky, thanks.--Doneve 21:33, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Creature infobox information[edit]

Hy Mbear, i hope you can help by this problem, the discussion is copyed from Frabby's talk page.--Doneve 21:07, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Hy Frabby, you fix the Creature Infobox, when i added a species image, ok it is shown in it, but i found after the save a broken infobox, take a look on the Ghost Bear (species) page, thanks. --Doneve 00:10, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

The InfoBox doesn't look broken to me - can you specify the problem? Frabby 08:36, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
The horizontal closing line in the top of the infobox, i don't see it.--Doneve 09:14, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Ah, now I see what you mean. Problem is, this is the same for all new infoboxes we have (and I think it was always like this). Only, on most of them you don't see it because very few images are pure white, most have a dark background. The frame is there on the (old-style) BattleMech infoboxes though so it is possible to have hone. I have no idea how to arrange a frame atop the image, perhaps ask Nic or Mbear? Frabby 20:59, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Mbear's Response

It looks like the top border of the infobox is missing. To confirm or disprove Frabby's theory, I substituted an award image for the ghost bear image and saw the same problem. The borders to either side of the image appeared, but the top didn't. Still investigating.--Mbear 11:05, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
The creature infobox is using the infoBoxNew CSS class, while the battlemech infobox is using the infobox CSS class. infoBoxNew has explicitly set the border-top property to 0px, which makes it disappear. When I changed the creature infobox to use infobox the border appeared. (It was in the wrong color, but it was progress.) So it looks like the infoBoxNew class needs to be updated to remove the 0px top border. I don't know what infobox templates are using that class however, so I haven't made the change or requested it.--Mbear 11:16, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Cities[edit]

Doneve - I would propose that instead of giving each city its own article, we instead put together sub-sections of the planet articles. There's rarely enough material for a proper city article. ClanWolverine101 20:16, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

copied this discussion talk from New Avalons talk page

Create the temp. articles for the city's later.--Doneve 11:41, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Doneve - Respectfully, most (all?) of those cities are probably not worthy of their own article. You could certainly argue that Avalon City is notable, but it world still probably be best to write brief descriptions of locations on a planet within the article. Just a thought? ClanWolverine101 06:04, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
CW101, BTW strives to record every fact gather-able on any subject within BattleTech. Unlike Wikipedia, we don't get into issues of notability and we do favor redlinks, in the hopes a writer will come along to make it blue. While I have absolutely no issues with your recommendation to provide write-ups on these cities within the New Avalon article, I'm also equally fine with redlinks that point to a non-existent article that has the potential to provide more detail than allowable here. (Caveat: I'm not a proponent of empty placeholder articles. For example, someone creating an article over a minor New Avalon city that only indicated a reference to the source material; I'd much prefer a simple statement at the least.)--Revanche (talk|contribs) 14:41, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Revanche, for your answer to ClanWolverine 101-Doneve 14:50, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
And now to give you a correct response, the new generated city articles falls under BattleTechWiki:Project Unfinished Book, as second i am in work to cleand up this section, but i need some time, and as second my fluff writing is in work, and i think, i catch Rev's Unfinished Book Project idea.--Doneve 20:37, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
I have added to the discussion at Talk:New Avalon. May we keep the conversation there? --Scaletail 23:20, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
I would like to clarify : I never claimed the information wasn't relevant. It certainly is, especially given how many battles have taken place on New Avalon. My simple claim is that this info would be better served in the main New Avalon article itself. That's all. I do not view this as a redlink/bluelink issue. If Doneve or someone wanted to, they could create redirects to the appropriate city subsection within the planet's article. Does this make more sense? ClanWolverine101 01:06, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Spam[edit]

Hello Doneve, please delete Live Casino - How To Choose An Online Casino‎ and the user account Livecasino. Tnx Neuling 05:12, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Please do not blank spam pages[edit]

...because it is possible that the spambots monitor their spam pages for edits, to determine how active a site is. Blanking the page may worsen the problem. Frabby 10:25, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Ah ok, but in the last days the site became many attacks, how we can handle this problem.--Doneve 10:43, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
I patrol the recent changes every day anyways, and when I see a spammer it gets deleted and its IP blocked. That's about best we can do. Normally, such kinds of spambot attacks will run out after a while. Frabby 12:49, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

3023[edit]

Regarding 3023, "Fuhito Tetsuhara was assassinated." was incorrect. Fuhito lived until at least the War of 3039, and probably much longer. ClanWolverine101 23:01, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Ohhh, thanks for your talk, he was assigned to the 17th Benjamin Regulars, and also thanks for your catch.--Doneve 23:07, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
Yeah. Aftor Galtor in 3025, he assigned to Theo in the Legion of Vega. ClanWolverine101 23:42, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
Have we any content to integrate this in the Legion of Vega page, and as second which Legion?--Doneve 23:52, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Taurian Concordat Update[edit]

IT IS DONE!! All rulers, regents, assorted persons and events of significance to the Taurian Concordat (prior to 3060) have been named, paged and referenced! WHEW that took longer that I thought it would but real life jumped up in the way. If you or one of the other admins could give this long labor of faction love a once (or heck twice!) over to make sure it meets this Wiki's standards I would be most grateful.Deeppockets 23:01, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Alpha Regiment[edit]

Hey Doneve - can you provide a unit insignia for Alpha Regiment (Wolf's Dragoons)? Thanks! ClanWolverine101 03:45, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Done :).--Doneve 07:16, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Shiro Kurita[edit]

Hey, I stumbled across his portrait in House Kurita (The Draconis Combine), and thought I should bring him in. However, you're the 'picture guy' and thought I ask you to do it. Can you?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 19:14, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Ok i look what i can do for your.--Doneve 19:34, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Wow...[edit]

Talk:Battle for the Imperial Palace (3068)...you're good! I was just coming in to do that! I'm glad you stalk me so closely!--Revanche (talk|contribs) 02:14, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

He he, stalking spiders ;).--Doneve 03:29, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

Planet categorizations[edit]

I was going to ask you if you'd help me. So we don't step on each other, I'm gonna start at the end of the alphabet and work backwards from that direction, ok?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:59, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Okidoky, i work forwards :).--21:40, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
Hy Rev, the "A" section category is done.--Doneve 07:56, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Good, good. Don't go back and do the 'A' section again, but try and list the planet categories in alphabetical order. Ex: Lyran Alliance, Lyran Commonwealth, Republic of the Sphere, Terran Hegemony. Thanks!--Revanche (talk|contribs) 12:45, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Okay, now I'm starting on 'W'. I saw we have two competing categories: Category:Word of Blake Planets & Category:Word of Blake Protectorate Planets. I'm of the opinion that they should just go under WoB Planets, where I've described the category as planets under the "control" of WoB, rather than within boundaries, like most Inner Sphere categories. What do you think?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 13:27, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Okay, WoB Planets is a good compromiss.--Doneve 13:33, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, Doneve.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 13:40, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Hy again, please can you delete the Category:Word of Blake Protectorate Planets page, by my permission, thanks.--Doneve 13:45, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Another thing: Periphery planets. I just came across a planet (Waypoint) that listed 'Periphery' as an owner, where clearly that is not a state. So far, I don't list them, because it seems that we should then put all the other planets in an 'Inner Sphere Planets' or 'Clan Planets' category.
What I'm thinking is this: ALL planets go in Category:Planets and in (at least) one state category (ex: Category: Capellan Confederation Planets, Category: Clan Ice Hellion Planets, Category: Terran Hegemony Planets, etc.). Some go into 'special' non-state categories (such as Category: Chaos March Planets). If a planet was never in a multi-planet state (or special category), such as Randis IV, which is a single-planet state, then it remains solely in Category:Planets. In other words, I think we should kill Category: Periphery Planets and Category: Clan Planets, as those planets will fall under state categories (ex: Category: Capellan Confederation Planets, Category: Clan Ice Hellion Planets). What say you?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 19:24, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Good idea, i agree with you, and the panets category confusion becomes a little cleanup.--Doneve 20:02, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Excellent; that was easy! I'll make the changes to those articles.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:04, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Okidoki ;).--Doneve 20:07, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Oooh, ooh, better idea: I'll make the specific state & Clan cats as children of the Periphery & Clan cats. That way, the categories don't get killed and if someone comes across them, they can still find the state cats.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:14, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
Doneve, I hate to do this to you, but it'd be better to start now than go back later. BrokenMnemonic suggested we put singlular planets in Category: Independent Planets. I like that because -like the Chaos March worlds- they are an exception to the normal multi-state planets. If you don't mind, let's go back though the ones we've done already (A-D for you, U-Z for me) and anything other than Chaos March planets that were ever by themselves get added to Category: Independent Planets. Is that okay with you?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:03, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Hmm i agree at the moment, but i think we leave a note on the planets page when they become independent status, i can live with this.--Doneve 20:08, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Oh, yes, absolutely. I have 'big' plans for better organizing each planet article, but I feel the categorization you and I are doing now are key to making any such efforts successful. Thanks, Doneve. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:15, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Dude! You're on 'M' already. Wow! Almost done.--Rev (talk|contribs) 13:46, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah man, i must finish 'M' & 'N' and then comes the next phase of the planets overhaul.--Doneve 13:57, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Hey, I'm working on 'N' now; when you finish up with 'M', please contact me. I'm gonna have you run Phase 0 by yourself, and I'd like to give you some guidance when it comes time.--Rev (talk|contribs) 18:10, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Okidoky, Phase 0 can stard in the next days ;).----Doneve 18:12, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I'm Done!! Thanks so much for helping me prepare for the Overhaul. I'd probably be less than halfway complete, if I didn't have you doing so much of it.
Let me know when you're done, and I'll start prepping you on Phase 0.--Rev (talk|contribs) 19:08, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Template: PlanetOverhaul[edit]

Morning, Doneve. Please don't use the new template just yet. You and I definitely need to finish the pre-overhaul categorization first and then we'll organize the roll-out of this tag. Thanks, man. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 16:56, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Factoid[edit]

Did you know that -in your (almost) 2 years here- you have an edit count of about 52 edits a day average, while I, with almost 5 years, don't even get to 4? Wow, Doneve. You're an editing machine.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 18:57, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

He he tanks ;), i had tomorrow a total system shut down, and lost a lot of my archive, ahhh, i now built up my arcive.--Doneve 14:53, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Userbar[edit]

Good choice. I was wondering which one you'd choose. There may be plenty more coming for the other projects, and since you seemed to be involved in so many, you might need to make a userbar section!--Rev (talk|contribs) 01:26, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Why not, i concentrate me in next time always to our planet overhaul project, and the wiki technology project, like the Jump Jet, and Fusion Engine entieres, oh and i forgot the Manufacturing Centers section, but there also embedet in the other two projects.--Doneve 01:32, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
Oh i want to say, I WANT A MANUFACTURING CENTERS Userbar, (new WikiProject, but at this time, also a idea by myself, we have enough work on the two others) ;).--Doneve 01:36, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I've already put in the current order, but I'll add that one with the BTW Cartographer and BTW Writer ones. Good idea.
Check out my column bar. That seems to work nice.--Rev (talk|contribs) 01:40, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah very nice, i like it.--Doneve 01:42, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Maps[edit]

Evening, Doneve. I was looking at the source material for some of the maps you posted (like File:CC2366.jpg), to see if I could import higher resolution ones. However, I saw you cropped the non-Capellan worlds from the image. How did you do that? Was it just a matter of erasing it, or did you capture on the the Capellan worlds? Thanks.--Rev (talk|contribs) 01:00, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Morning Rev, my intension was to show the Capellan Confederation in his year periode, only capellan planets and (lost planets, you can see on the images), i think it is helpfull in our planets overhauling project, ...planet categorization etc.--Doneve 01:08, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, but how did you do it? Did you have to erase the non-Capellan planets or did you have a program that captured only the Capellan?--Rev (talk|contribs) 01:11, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
I make a screen shot of the map and uploaded the file in Paint.net and manipulate the maps, i hope this helps.--Doneve 12:53, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Ok...it might. I want to upload a whole lot fo maps soon and I'm looking for a quick but reliable method.--Rev (talk|contribs) 14:44, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Ah ok, iam very interrested, what for maps you uploade, oh and a another question, what we do with the Category:Maps Gallery, there is a lot of mess, how can we handle this, what are you think.--Doneve 15:32, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
I don't think we need to do anything with it. It could be better organized, but that means changing the names of the files. The category is doing its job.--Rev (talk|contribs) 23:02, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Good deal, but you must change the file names, i dont have the permission.--Doneve 23:04, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Ugh. Too much effort for little value (just to organize a category).--Rev (talk|contribs) 00:41, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
How did you delete the non-Capellan planets? Did you just wave the eraser over the whole map or is there a quicker method?--Rev (talk|contribs) 00:41, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Ha Ha you are right, the eraser was my best friend, yeah a little bit work, but the images looks prety.--Doneve 00:55, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Thanks.--Rev (talk|contribs) 01:32, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Skye Guards Insignia[edit]

Doneve - Do you happen to have the Skye Guards insignia? It was used in Historical Turning Points: Glengarry, and I was hoping to use it for an article. Thanks. ClanWolverine101 21:57, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

No problem, is it for a new article or witch you provided it in an existing, talk to me or when i see your new article i upload it.--Doneve 22:06, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Its a new one I'm working on. If you have a link, that would be perfect. ClanWolverine101 08:50, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Vandal Cop Award[edit]

Great turnaround, Doneve. You usually don't see children posting on here, but your actions made their disruptions, well, non-disruptive. Yet another Vandal Cop award:

Vandal Cop Award, 3rd ribbon

Thanks, Doneve. --Rev (talk|contribs) 22:19, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks man for my 3rd. I know it was a little catch, when i see the spam bot attacks, in last time.--Doneve 22:21, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Image Import award[edit]

Doneve, you have been nominated for this award by BrokenMnemonic, per the following: "...for the work being put into the reference gallery of map images for the Planets Project. Doneve is doing far more than just cropping images and uploading them; each of the images is being adjusted by hand to show only the subject nations, with borders, arrows, legends and other such devices removed. There are more than 30 images already created and uploaded by Doneve, and in the vast majority of cases they are the first dedicated map of that region uploaded into the general maps gallery as well. While there's a lot of work still to be done, I think Doneve has already made a big investment of time and effort into producing legible, high-quality maps for use by the project team and the wiki users in general."
With very little consideration necessary, I grant the nomination and present the Admins' Image Import Award.

Image Import Award

Good job, thanks for the effort and keep charging.--Rev (talk|contribs) 17:19, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks guys.--Doneve 17:37, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Free Worlds Guards[edit]

Hey Doneve - Do you have a brigade insignia for the Free Worlds Guards? I've seen it in CamoSpecs among other places. Their article page could use it. ClanWolverine101 15:49, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

Hey, Doneve, I just wanted to thank you for cleaning up after me. I haven't edited any wiki in a long time 'til now, so the help is appreciated. Good luck/have a nice day/etc c:— The preceding unsigned comment was posted by name (talkcontribs) .

No problem man, if you have questions..., talk to me.--Doneve 16:52, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Need another pic[edit]

Field Report: FWLM has an emblem for the Tamarind and Abbey Districts. Can you get that one for me? Thanks! ClanWolverine101 02:08, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

No problem man, the link is on your talk page.--Doneve 00:13, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Phase 0[edit]

Hey, Doneve: let's please discuss Phase 0 of the Overhaul over at BattleTechWiki talk:Project Planets/Planet Overhaul/Phase 0. See you there.--Rev (talk|contribs) 00:50, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Images Provided[edit]

Doneve - Thanks again for hunting down so many pics for me. They really bring out the articles. Have a Random Act of Appreciation Award, 7th ribbon. Thanks! ClanWolverine101 23:47, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks bud.--Doneve 23:48, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Casual Edit Award[edit]

Casual Edit Award, 4th ribbon

Hi Doneve, thank you for sorting out the bibliography links in my article on the Acala Pact - I typed that up last thing before bed and was too preoccupied with checking the text to check that I'd actually got the formatting right throughout. I'd like to give you a casual edit award for it, as it makes the article look much more professional now. BrokenMnemonic 07:08, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks.--Doneve 07:47, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Ninyu[edit]

Hey man - the graphic you posted was broken. :( ClanWolverine101 16:00, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Hm i have no problems, i can see the image in the article.--Doneve 16:02, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Planet Tagging[edit]

Based on what I found in Handbook: Major Periphery States, Handbook: House Liao and Handbook: House Steiner there are going to be a fair number of worlds within the Federated Suns, Lyran Commonwealth and Free Worlds League that needed to be added to the database, and that vanished during the 1st - 3rd Succession Wars. Would it be worth me spending a few days adding as many as I can into the database, or would it be better to finish phase 0 tagging those planets we've already got, and then add the new worlds in using the new template? I'm tempted to start adding the worlds in now, while it's a fairly fast process. BrokenMnemonic 13:25, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

I agree with you, add new planets, and i finish the phase O tagging, so far as i can.--Doneve 13:27, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Coordinates[edit]

Hey, Doneve: I saw you were using the extrapolated coordinates to update the current articles (thanks for using the tag!). Letting you know that coordinates are Phase 2 for each article and they will still need to be checked by each team member, so it's not really saving any time. Feel free to continue, but the Phase 0 tagging is much more important to the project, so we can start on Phase 1 as soon as it's done.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 19:10, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Upps, you're right, we must at first uploading and install new maps, i hold of at the moment, and go on with phase 0 tagging.--Doneve 19:21, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Moratorium[edit]

Doneve, I saw you removed the moratorium banner from Era Report: 3062 a couple of days ago, after it expired. When you do that in the future, please also let an admin know (preferably Mbear) so that a news item can go out informing interested editors of its availability. Thanks. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 19:15, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Okidoky.--Doneve 19:22, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

The Blake Documents[edit]

Doneve, do you have a digital copy of The Blake Documents? If you do, can you possibly tell me if it's got a map of the entire Inner Sphere that can be enlarged and copied for editing? I picked up Historical: Reunification War last month and I'm torn between The Blake Documents and Jihad Hot Spots: Terra this month, but if TBD has decent quality maps that can be used in it, I'd be tempted to go for that one first. There are areas like the Filtvelt Coalition and the Malagrotta pirate realm that don't have many maps here (if any) yet and I think from the reading I've done that they started out as plot points in or around TBD... BrokenMnemonic 06:46, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Hy, yes i have a digital copy, i upload all maps for you, ok.--Doneve 09:36, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

Spammers[edit]

Thanks for letting me know about the latest. One request: please don't do anything to the spammer's user pages or articles. It makes our job harder, because we can't 'find' the name so easily (since you make both pages blue) and we now have 4 pages to delete, instead of just two. In the future, just tell us about it and give us the name, if possible. Thanks, Doneve.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 23:22, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Community Service award[edit]

For your individual efforts to prepare the planet articles for the Overhaul, I'd like to present you the:

Community Service Award

Thanks for the work and hope to see you back for the individual missions.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 15:17, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks a lot, iam prepared for the next mission.--Doneve 15:29, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Nexus[edit]

Hi Doneve. An anonymous editor changed the source referenced in the Nexus article from TRO:3058 to TRO:3055U. My copy of 3058 has gone missing, so I cannot verify that this is the correct reference. I did note that the page numbers match up with the Nexus II in 3055U. Since you were the one who originally added the references, I was hoping that you could check to be sure it is correct. Thanks! --Scaletail 00:15, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Scale - If i may interject - I don't have 3055U in front of me, but I can guarantee the Nexus appeared in the original 3058. So even if the references in question SHOULD be for 3055U (unlikely?), there should be plenty of citable material from 3058.
I will check back on this. ClanWolverine101 01:14, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Planets Overhaul Phase 4[edit]

Hi Doneve,

Revanche made some comments about Phase 4 of the overhaul over on BattleTechWiki_talk:Project_Planets/Planet_Overhaul#Phase_4 with a view to getting the test articles up to the same standard and agreeing what that standard should be. I've responded, but no-one else has yet, and I was hoping I could persuade you to weigh in with your opinions. I don't think that we can have the standards all agreed and every planet article rewritten before Revanche gets back, but I'm sure we could arrange a surprise... BrokenMnemonic 07:03, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Morning BM, i concentrate me at this time to the extrapolated co-ordinates, and to the planet and system infoboxes (not yet), i have a question, you use also BadSyntax database, where came all the system infos, i know we don't have in the canon sources infos for all planets, where come they from?.--Doneve 09:03, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
I've been using that extrapolated list on the projects page, as I've not gone into BadSyntax's database yet. I know I've compared the planets we have available to those on the extrapolated list, and there are some I don't recognise - I've been slowly working through my sources trying to work out where BadSyntax got them from, and putting together a list of any planets I can't identify to question him about. Which planets are giving you problems? I've found some really odd ones like a planet that should be very close to Terra that doesn't appear on any map I can find. BrokenMnemonic 09:29, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Ok, take a look on this [1], this blog include a link to a pdf file, there all planets with content for the star system infobox,i hope this helps.--Doneve 09:57, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
I can't download the .pdf files until I get home (they're zipped up) but I've downloaded the text file that includes the faction information, and it's fascinating - one world that'd been causing me fits is a planet called Killbourn, which has co-ordinates of -5.06, 13.23. That puts it very close to Terra, and I couldn't find it on any maps. In BadSyntax records, it's shown as being on just one set of maps, from 2596 - I only know of one set of maps with that date, and that's the big post-Reunification War map in Historical: Reunification War, which answers a lot of questions for me. I've also seen a couple of other worlds I couldn't find, which look as if they only appear on maps of the Draconis Combine after 3040. BrokenMnemonic 10:35, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
I am glad to help Smiley.gif.--Doneve 10:38, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Mapping the Free Worlds League[edit]

I've just finished making maps using Handbook: House Steiner, so I've got the Free Worlds League and the Capellan Confederation to go yet. I'm hoping you might have some advice on mapping out the FWL for the project overhaul map gallery; Rev wants maps that can be used by project staff to trace a planet's ownership easily from era to era, so they need to cover all of the planets. It's been easy with the FedSuns and the Lyrans, because their realms are divided up into a handful of big regions, but the FWL is a hodge-podge of nations and independent worlds that change over time. Can you think of an easy but consistent way to map it? I could just arbitrarily chop the maps up into quarters or ninths based around Atreus, although that could result in the maps being a bit unwieldy. BrokenMnemonic 11:42, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Hmm, that makes me also some headache, i uploaded some FWL region Maps but their don't match all planets on the surrounding area, i think about this problem and talk then to you.--Doneve 13:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Explorer Corps Planets[edit]

I've uploaded all of the Deep Periphery holdings listed on p. 52-58 of Explorer Corps that we discussed. The holdings that were actual occupied colonies like St. Jean and Nouveaux Paris were already here, although the articles were stubs, so someone had been through and added those before. I had a quick skim through and updated some information on a planet that's described in Explorer Corps, Siroc, but which isn't shown on the map, and I noticed the same had been done for a small number of others already, but I think there are more dotted throughout the book in the text without actually being shown on the map. I'm torn between sitting down and re-reading the book again page by page to try and tease all the information out, or backing away to a safe distance and working on other things instead Wink.gif BrokenMnemonic 06:44, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Wow great job, i found in Interstellar Players some Jarnfolk planets.--
There's an article on new planets that need to be added to the new template standard (when it's agreed) that has the Járnfolk planets listed, along with the Neuva Castille and Hanseatic League planets - I think Rev authored it? There's also a Magistracy world on the list, which seems a bit odd, as I added a great raft of Magistracy planets to the wiki weeks ago. BrokenMnemonic 10:11, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Oberon Confederation[edit]

I noticed that a user here, Guardsman has some maps of the Oberon Confederation and what looks like the Chainelaine Isles posted in the maps gallery, but I'm not sure what the providence for them is. Most of them are marked as being from the Rim Worlds Republic map in Handbook: Major Periphery States, and I know that doesn't have either the Confederation or the Isles on it. One of the maps, this one: File:Oberon_Confederation_(3028).png lists 25 Years of Art and Fiction as one of the sources - do you have that book, by any chance? Can you confirm if the map is actually from that? I'm not sure whether the maps Guardsman's flagged up are actually canon, or if they count as fanon, and I don't want to link them to the Project Planets map gallery if they're not actually a canon source. BrokenMnemonic 10:11, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Yes i have 25 Years of Art and Fiction, i double check this, and give you then a response.--Doneve 10:14, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Varinants - Manufacturer[edit]

Hey, I have a question for you, why do you think it is not worth to post the information of the manufacturer on the individual designs on the pages??? My addition were only minor nature and give the user an overview. Neuling 19:52, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Hy, you found any info on the Hollis Incorporated page, add the variants direct in the manufacturing center page, oh and please folow the Policy: Manual of Style policy, thanks.--Doneve 19:59, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Your response is wrong that any information is available at the Hollis site, because the cooporation with Norse Storm is not mention and also the different Variants like the XNT-5O and XNT-4O are not presented. And please explain what was wrong with my style at the page. Another way to show the variants could also be to create a special page for such cases and I missing in many articles an overview at the manufacturers like in the newer tros. Neuling 20:13, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Longshot-Update needed?[edit]

I'm confused by the use of the Update needed tag on the Longshot page. After going through the record sheet book, I can't see anything else that we'd need to add. What are you looking for in the Record sheets package that isn't on the page already?--Mbear(talk) 11:36, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Hy Mbear, i found the LNG-4 Longshot variant, this variant is missing on the page.--Doneve 11:50, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Ah. That explains it. Thanks!--Mbear(talk) 17:55, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
NO problem dude, i learn to double check infos Wink.gif.--Doneve 19:12, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Following politics[edit]

Hy Doneve, I notice that you think that I don't will follow common rules. I doesn't understand what are you mean exacly. Please correct me when I'm wrong. I start a discussion about my issue and used the Variant and Manufacturer Site as a site to gather the information for me personaly and perhaps later work base for the articles. I doesn't use this time tables like in the past. All information is available in the specific TRO. The problem is that no overview exist where the induvidual variants are produced. My task was to create something like in the Objective Raids sourcebook. Sometimes I have the feeling that changing the structure of a common developed article structur is tightly ristricted by you admins and the deleteion tag is quickly add in some cases. And at last I think they are many articles which are only place holders without a special purpose. I love the work for sarna.net and it is always hard work to convince the other users about the mean of that what I do. Neuling 03:44, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Kage Battle Armour[edit]

Hi Doneve,

An IP address user has just added a paragraph of text about one of the variants of the Kage battle armour and it's use on Op Serpent, but hasn't added any citations (or used a spellchecker). Battle Armour isn't something I know a great deal about - is there any way you can check if the detail is correct? I debated just reverting the change and moving the comment into the talk page, but I'm a little reluctant to do that given my lack of knowledge on the subject. BrokenMnemonic 09:03, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

I looked and didn't find anything. For that matter, the variant the editor added on to is also unsourced. Give it a week or so and, if nothing, delete the whole shebang. --Scaletail 23:47, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Historical: Reunification War/Field Report: Periphery[edit]

Hi Doneve,

The moratoriums on Historical: Reunification War and Field Report: Periphery have passed - are you happy for me to extract the maps from both to use in the gallery here? I've been looking forward to producing them as both are amongst my favourite sourcebooks to come out in some time.

As a side note, do you have a copy of Era Report: 3062? I don't, but I understand from comments over on the CGL forum that it may contain a number of maps for the 3052-3063 era - if it does, would you be willing to add maps from it to the maps gallery? That way, I don't need to rush out and buy the book just yet (I still haven't finished reading Jihad Hot Spots: Terra yet, and have another half dozen books still on my reading list). BrokenMnemonic 07:35, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Morning BM, yep i have Era Report: 3062, and yes i upload the maps Smiley.gif.--Doneve 08:20, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Great! I'll get on with making maps out of Historical: Reunification War. I'm experimenting with trying to make composite images, so that I can get around the problem of maps being divided by the spine of the book... BrokenMnemonic 09:54, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
I uploade at first the Maps from Field Report: Periphery, and then i go to Era Report: 3062, and then i go to ... and to..., a never ending story Wink.gif.--Doneve 09:59, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
I know what you mean - I've still got maps to upload from Era Report: 3052, and then I've got to start chopping up the various Field Report maps to get the individual regions done. And Field Manual: 3085 will be on us before we know it, too! BrokenMnemonic 10:21, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Battlemech Infobox[edit]

Doneve, I received your message. Do you have an example page for me to view?--17:13, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

OK I've got it fixed. The problem was that you weren't using the correct parameters on your rows.

The infobox had these lines:

|Communications System||{{{comsys|}}}
|Targeting Tracking System||{{{T&T|}}}

Which is fine. But your documentation was pointing to the wrong variables:

|communications system=
|targeting tracking system=

So the infobox was looking for comsys and T&T, but couldn't find anything because you had the values in communications system and targeting tracking system. Make sense?

To prevent these two lines from appearing in the infobox until there's a value in them, I wrapped them in an IF statement. So you can add the values to the infoboxes, but in those 'Mechs you haven't updated you won't see anything.--Mbear(talk) 17:26, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks man, i started today or tomorrow, with updating the sections, but i can see on the Battleaxe is works, thanks a lot.--Doneve 17:29, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Founding Maps[edit]

Hi Doneve,

I noticed that you're updating a lot of worlds to reflect their being a part of the Lyran Commonwealth in 2341. Can you add an owner history entry for 2340 for each as well, showing the original state the world was in before the Commonwealth was founded? I did that with the Capellan Confederation worlds, so that people looking back to age of war games can sort worlds by the earlier states using categories.

Will you be putting entries in for all of those worlds shown on the map that weren't in the three identified states on the map? I've been mulling over how to handle that, and the best idea I've come up with so far is to tag them as Independent Planets but to add a note in the owner history saying the system was settled at that point, but whether it was part of a state or not isn't known at the current point in time. BrokenMnemonic 17:38, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

No problem man, take a look on Surcin, and make changes if you want, if its ok, yeah give me a tip how i mulling all owner ship entries, thank.--Doneve 17:43, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
I added the category Tamar Pact Planets to Surcin, but otherwise that looks great to me. BrokenMnemonic 17:53, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks man :)--Doneve 18:17, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Pic I'm looking for[edit]

Hey Doneve - I'm looking for a specific pic i was hoping to use for an article. Its a Thor vs. a Scorpion that appeared on the cover of the Luthien Scenario Pack, as well as various promotional materials. I was wondering if you had access to it, minus the Luthien text. Thanks! ClanWolverine101 23:32, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Reference Typo[edit]

Morning Doneve,

I'm adding in some owner history details for the Rasalhague Dominion, and I spotted that when you were updating the Tamar Pact worlds from Handbook: House Steiner, a typo crept into your reference. This is the reference:
Handbook: House Steiner, p. 13, "Tamar Pact world within the Lyran Commonwealth befor [2340] and after at their founding in [2341]"
You're missing the "e" in before - "... within the Lyran Commwealth before [2340] ..."
I've found it in several worlds this morning, so I think it's in the original reference entry you were copying and pasting into each world? BrokenMnemonic 09:45, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Upps, yes i see my typo, i fix it when i update the owner history of the planets, thanks.--Doneve 11:14, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Two pics I need[edit]

Can you help with these? Shelly Brubaker from The Battle of Coventry (scenario pack) and from Operational Turning Points: Falcon Incursion. Thanks! ClanWolverine101 02:16, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Castilian Principalities[edit]

Hi Doneve,

You asked me a few weeks ago if I'd heard of the Castilian Principalities, and I said based on the settlement dates I thought that the Castilian Principalities was probably Nueva Castile. I was reading Masters and Minions a few minutes ago, and I noticed that on page 231 Joseph Noye is described as King of the Castilian Principalities. I'm wondering if the Castilian Principalities are the non-Umayyad portions of Nueva Castile, and the entry in Era Digest: Age of War got the name slightly wrong... BrokenMnemonic 21:10, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Good catch, i double check the info, i think we post a message to the "Ask the Writers" on the CBF, thanks.--Doneve 22:37, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Operation UNION HOLD[edit]

I've just finished updating the entries of every world mentioned in the Outworlds Alliance portion of the Reunification War, although I haven't yet added the garrison details for those Star League forces on Draconis Combine worlds prior to the invasion of the Alliance. Do you think it's worth me adding an entry to those worlds that don't seem to have been subject to an invasion or heavy raid, like Dneiper and Ferris, stating that during the Reunification War they escaped any major battles, raids or attacks? It would give a bit of history to planets that don't currently have a lot, and I'll be updating the owner history entries for the remaining OA worlds anyway... BrokenMnemonic 15:14, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

It is not worth, i think any info like (Garrisoning Military Forces etc.) is usefull for the articles, also when we have minor infos we added it.--Doneve 16:46, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
I compromised with myself, and added a couple of sentences to the Dneiper entry, to give it a bit of context. I've just been to look at a world called Risin, and there's some history detail on the planet entry about a mercenary group called the Blades of Death and Jureck's Jaegers, and I've never heard of either of them. There's no citation, either. Have you ever heard of either group? Can you remember a book mentioning a lostech cache being found on Risin in the 3020s? BrokenMnemonic 19:57, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Ok i check my sources and talk then to you.--Doneve 20:03, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

More pics[edit]

Hey Doneve - Can you get me the pic of Hermione Aten from Era Report 3062? There's also a pic of her in the beginning of Handbook House Steiner I'd like to crop. Can you help? Thanks!!! ClanWolverine101 08:16, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Combat Vehicle infobox updated[edit]

Doneve, per your request, I've updated the Combat Vehicle infobox to use a communications and Targeting and Tracking line. While I was at it, I verified that the AeroSpace Fighter infobox has those lines as well. I've also added them to the infoboxes for Support Vehicles, Conventional Fighters, Small Craft, Industrial Mechs, and DropShips. I think that covers most of them. --Mbear(talk) 12:08, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Great, thanks a lot.--Doneve 12:28, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Images[edit]

Before I forget, thanks for uploading the images for the bio and ship articles I've been uploading recently - I do a lot of my editing away from home, so it's not easy for me to upload images until I actually get home. It's nice to find the articles being finished off as I get back Smiley.gif Would you believe I'm fast approaching 4,000 edits? I've only been editing here since July, and I'm allegedly already the 10th most prolific editor on Sarna. I think there's got to be a counting error there somewhere!

I'm getting close to having finished updating everything Outworlds Alliance-related that I can from Historical: Reunification War - there's still a fair amount that needs to be done, including at least three looooong character articles, but I think I should be finished in a couple of weeks. As Revanche isn't around much at the moment, if he isn't back by the time I've done the Outworlds Alliance work, do you think we should agree the template standard for the planet articles between the two of us and work on the Alliance as the first test cases at that point? It'd be good to make a start, and I know I'll be looking for a change at that point... BrokenMnemonic 22:07, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

Hy BM thanks for talking to me, at first i love images, this give character bios, manufacturing centers, units etc. some flow and the articles looks greater and professional, i don't know how much images i uploaded Wink.gif, but there is a lot, hmm one thousend.
I keep trying to avoid thinking about how many maps I'm going to need to make for the planets project! I've noticed how many images you've got just in the unit logo gallery alone - and yours are always much more accurately categorized and sorted than others. I think you're right about how images improve articles; one of the things I'd like to do at some point is create more maps of things like border conflicts, to illustrate descriptions with. BrokenMnemonic 07:40, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
As second, YES, i think you and I work forward, and use our template standard for our planet project, Revanche is at this time not availible, but we can surprise him, when no other user intervent for our template standard, we do what we do, and bring the wiki to a new level, more citations, more articles there bases on a subject (stub articles) are very welcome and so on.

Oh i forgot, i stard to add missing citations on the Outworlds Alliance planets owner history section, i hope my writing was not to rough, and you understand me, greetings.--Doneve 22:30, 26 November 2011 (UTC)

I need to check where we'd got to with the template, but I think the only thing outstanding was an agreement on whether to use the owner history or not, and whether to break it into owner history and planet history. I think it should be kept - after all, it's basically a series of data points in date format - and I think it should stay under the system area of the article, as most of the time in the text, system and planet(s) are the same thing, and where there's a reason for it to be different, we can make amendments in the text. I've done that with things like the worlds disputed by the Draconis Combine and Federated Suns in 3130.
Which Outworlds planet entries have you updated? I've been through most of them over the last couple of months, and I've not seen anything that looked incorrect, so I think you're doing a good job :) BrokenMnemonic 07:40, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
At first i agree fully with you about the owner history section. As second take a look on the Alegro page, i found some maps in Handbook: House Davion there is the planet mentiont.--Doneve 12:27, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
Alegro looks good to me - and it highlights that for a lot of the 2,400+ planets/systems out there, we've got little more than map information about them - another good argument for keeping the owner history records. I think Revanche feels that listed information like that doesn't fit in a narrative piece, but I think a lot of our planet and system dates only let us say "on this day/in this year, this system/planet was a part of this particular state". If that's all the information we've got, then I think we need to be upfront about that. I think it might be more palatable to Revanche if we could find a title for the section other than "owner history" though - owner history implies that the records should include an entry for each time the planet changed hands, which they don't at the moment. Can you think of any ideas for a better section title than "owner history"? BrokenMnemonic 08:43, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Hy BM, my first idea to rename the "owner history", is "Occupation History", what you are think?--Doneve 13:32, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Hmm... my thought is that "occupation" implies that a planet's population are being controlled by threat of force, having been invaded. That's a problem for worlds that haven't changed hands, or only infrequently... although it's very apt for some.
I've seen people like Cray talking about interstellar nations on the CBT forum - how about "National Affiliation"? It feels a little strange to use the term national for entire planets, though. Maybe "Known National Affiliation", to show that it's a list of information we know, but not an exhaustive one? BrokenMnemonic 20:56, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, you are right the name "National" is really strange, ok give me a day i thinking about this problem and talk then to you.--Doneve 21:01, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
How about simply calling it "Political affiliation/faction"? Frabby 21:13, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Hy Frabby, good idea, i wait for BM response, thanks for involving in the problem.--Doneve 21:16, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
I've just been doing a little background reading, and traditionally, maps which showed national boundaries used to be called "political maps", to distinguish them from "physical maps", which were maps that showed terrain features - mountains, rivers and the like. So, "Political Affiliation" could be good - but I think I'd suggest "Known Political Affiliation", because that way, we're indicating that we're listing the affiliation at points in time we know - which acknowledges that we don't have an exhaustive record, which leaving out the word "Known" tends to imply. Does that make sense, at all? BrokenMnemonic 22:05, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
I agree at this moment with "Political Affilation", but i am not happy about this name, we must set up some notes how change it hands etc.--Doneve 22:26, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

deletion of Manufacturer subsection[edit]

Hello doneve, please explain your intention for the deletion of my work. I think many user find it usefull to know from were the single variants are coming from. Further its give the reader the possibility to use the links to go directly to the manfacturer related sites. Another opinion for me to show that many more production lines/sites exist as on Sarna.net shown. All entries have their corresponding reference and nothing important from the article was changed, only one subsection adde (and not my prefered tables). What have I do wrong? Neuling 09:14, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

Hy Neuling, we don't need this section in 'Mech articles, we have the Manufacturing Center category, and when i take a look, you can find all models added to the various companies, oh and i think circa 98% of manufacturing lines (435 pages on sarna) are added to the wiki, only 2% are missed.--Doneve 10:55, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
Tnx for your responce. When you wrote we don't need that content in the mech articles. Is that the opinion of the overall majority of the users or only of a few? Because it is for myself difficult to jump from manufacture to another and to get an overall overview which modell is produced by which manufacturer. And let me some time I will show you that some production lines could be added. I need the time to sort them after manufacturer and modell. I think I can incorporate those infos by the individual variants to. It takes longer but the info is an enrichment to the sites. The original text will not harm only one or two sentence will be added. Neuling 11:12, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
Can you provide me an example, that was very cool.--Doneve 13:14, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
Take a look at the Lightning - aeropace their you can find an example how I can added the information without changing anything important. Neuling 16:31, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

Hello Doneve, I removed the entry which contains Objectives FS material, please don't remove Planets with marker of the faction, because it is usefull to know where the vehicles are produced, in my opinion. Let's dicuss that issue with the others admins? What are your thoughts about it? Neuling 20:55, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
I see you doesn't agree with the material. Your right that the informations is on the Quickcell page. One thought the puplishers include the production sites in the normal TRO to and in my opinion is a good idea. Again let us discuss that with the other admins. Neuling 21:00, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
I disagree, we don't need planet links in the infobox, hit the manufacturer link like Quickscell Company and you have the info that the Heavy APC was manufactured on Ares by the company, yeah talk to admins, i think they talk the same what i talk to you.--Doneve 21:00, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
I'm patient about the outcome of such an discusion. Where can I start it or how is responsible for such task? You wrote that most produtions sites are available, I will search after them and will include the missing. At the end it wwill be interesting how many missing are add to the sites.Neuling 21:04, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
At first take a look to this Help:References, as second go to the admins page and stard a discussion about your task, i don't agree with you but this is my personal view of thinks, i was very interesting what some admins talk to this and to you.--Doneve 21:10, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi doneve, I read your comment about my work. Your are right that is not your task to rework my articles. I follow in most cases the overall rules like complete sentences, not plagarism, structure with in the article and many more. I think that most of the other users accepted the way I worked and but a clean up template a the corresponding site. And in the case of the Wars of Reaving timeline I'm selfish. I was the only one how showed the entire conflict. It took me over a week of work to complete it. And don't forget my changes in the past where hugh but that changed, also I talk with you more than before. If I follow your suggestions is an decision by case. I hope you understand it now better. With best regards Neuling 07:34, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Reverts[edit]

Hi Doneve, I reverted your edits on BattleCorpss Scenarios ("Fall of the Hammer"). The scenario sections always list the fiction blurb as it is presented on the BattleCorps site (in this case, here) in a copy & paste fashion, i.e. including all odd spelling and errors. What you did, I believe, was to extend the blurb with other parts from the scenario's introduction fiction. That is not only beyond the scope of the article, it is also a copyright violation; arguable, only what BattleCorps already published in the download section may be copied over under the "fair use" rationale.
Similary, I reverted your "cleanup" edit Stable Reports because it only removed the Product infobox. The article format is the same for scenarios, ship profiles, stable reports and unit digests. Why would we not use the standard product article structure for the Stable Reports listing?
Frabby 07:44, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Add-on about the BattleCorps scenarios: I haven't yet reverted the changes you made, but I disagree with them. Most importantly, the naming format: You unified the naming. Normally, I would applaud this change, but not for the BattleCorps item lists: Each scenario subsection is named exactly as it is named on BattleCorps - much like the blurb is copied over verbatim from BC. Even if it contains... arbitrary... spelling and grammar. The TOC I'm unsure about; maybe you're right and it makes sense to have here, given the large number of scenarios.
I have opened up a discussion on Talk:BattleCorps Scenarios to discuss possible changes to the article format. You're invited to join the discussion there. Frabby 03:39, 17 December 2011 (PST)
Another add-on: I'm in the process of adding stubs or, where possible, full articles, on any and all BattleCorps publications, using Roosterboy's excellent Excel sheet for those published before I subscribed. Scenario list will be updated accordingly. Frabby 04:13, 17 December 2011 (PST)

Diedre Lear[edit]

Doneve, thank you very much for interupting your normal project progression to 'save' the Diedre Lear article. For that, I award you this Admin award: the Problem Solver Award

FedCom Brigade[edit]

Hey Doneve - Got a bigger version of this? [[File:Allianceguards4th.png|191px]] Its actually the brigade insignia for the old FedCom units. Thanks! ClanWolverine101 04:05, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Proper biblio naming[edit]

Hey, Doneve. Here's just a quirk of mine. It's not a major transgression by any means, but I think if I can bring you around to my method of doing this, not only will this error cease being added by a major contributor (yourself), but you might help me fix it where you see it.
The Biblio section is supposed to list products (by their proper names) that contribute to the article. However, sometimes, some products (ex: Northwind Highlanders (scenario pack)) share a name with an in-universe entity (ex: Northwind Highlanders). When you use a such a page to highlight a product, can you 'pipe' the entry, so that it reads as the product's actual name/title? For example, in the 4th Amaris Dragoons article, if you used ''[[Northwind Highlanders (scenario pack)|Northwind Highlanders]]'', then it would depict the product's actual title, but still direct them to the right page.
Does that make sense?--Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:52, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Okidoki, when i see some mistakes in the biblio i fix it.--Doneve 20:56, 14 December 2011 (UTC)

Resizing an Image[edit]

Hey Doneve - Is there a way to resize an image through the wiki? I don't want to download it, resize it, and re-upload. Thoughts? ClanWolverine101 10:52, 20 December 2011 (PST)

Yep, i give you an example, [File:name.jpg|191px], what for a pic is it.--Doneve

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for the award! I didn't know I could get awards! Yes, I'm just trying to help clean up some the grammar - basic stuff like avoiding too many prepositions, comma abuse, passive voice, etc. As for the German... meine Deutsch ist SEHR schlecht! LaHyenne 07:10, 21 December 2011 (PST)

Happy New Year[edit]

Hi Doneve,

I'd like to wish you a happy new year, and all the best for 2012. It's been great getting to work alongside you on here, and I'm looking forward to being able to do the same next year - who knows, by the end of 2012, I may have worked my way through all of Historical: Reunification War ... or I may never want to look at it again!
