The Ventabren system was home to at least one habitable world and as of 3145 was located Oriente Protectorate region of the Free Worlds League.[1][2]

The Ventabren system is located near the Jilin and Shui-pào systems.[3]

The Ventabren system was colonized during the First Exodus from Terra.[4]

Second Succession War[edit]

Ventabren was attacked during the course of a highly successful operation conducted by the Free Worlds League Military and led by the Fusiliers of Oriente in 2832; although Ventabren and the nearby world of Elnath avoided being conquered, unlike the worlds of Berenson, Kyrkbacken and Zion, the defending forces on both worlds took heavy damage before the FWLM forces were pushed back by a heavy counterattack.[38]

Third Succession War[edit]

In 2941 agents operating on behalf of Captain-General Samuel Marik convinced Vincente Sian-Marik to sign a treaty with the Free Worlds League transferring his allegiance and those of the worlds he administered to the League. In addition to being the planetary administrator of Kyrkbacken, Ohrensen, Suzano, Ventabren and Zion, Sian-Marik was a distant relative of the Marik line; while the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces garrisons on the five worlds didn't try to resist the transfer of worlds, they did engage in widespread scorched-earth operations on each world to inflict as much damage as possible prior to the transfer. As a consequence the acquisition of the five worlds saddled the Free Worlds League with a significant and expensive rebuilding program.[18]

Dark Age[edit]

In 3132, the Oriente Protectorate and Republic of the Sphere conducted a joint salvage operation on an Operation GOLDEN DAWN-era battlefield, aided by the 21st Centauri Lancers. The operation was interrupted by unmarked attackers in May. During the battle, the Lancers' Jon Roberson stood out for his performance, his custom-modified Opossum holding back attackers while conducting delicate salvage work, catching the attention of the press and of official observers. The incident led to the proliferation of his light AC/2-armed Opossum MOD.[39]
