Third Succession War[edit]

Tall Trees was best known in the Confederation as the site of the New Tierra del Fuego II plague. In 2966, a virulent plague hit the island and killed everyone living there. What is less well known is the fact that the plague was actually created in a Capellan genetic research lab located on Tall Trees. Though the incident might have caused the closure of the facility other research projects that focused on food production were successful. These projects are what kept the population of the Capellan Confederation fed in the late thirtieth and early thirty-first centuries.[1]

In 3025, the CCAF troops that were stationed on the world to guard the research complex received triple combat pay even though the New Tierra del Fuego II accident took place nearly 60 years earlier.[1]

The Jihad[edit]

One of the garrison units on Tall Trees in 3067, the Second Dismal Disinherited, left the planet to join the disastrous AMC attack on Mars after the attacks against Wolf's Dragoons on Outreach by mercenary forces linked to the Word of Blake. Attacking forces from the Word of Blake promptly seized control of Tall Trees, annexing it into the Word of Blake Protectorate by the 30th of December along with the nearby worlds of Epsilon Indi and Fletcher.[31] Word of Blake's Third Division attacked and finally ejected the Com Guard Eighty-third Division from the planet. The capital city of Fa Shura saw intense fighting with over five hundred civilians killed in the initial assault near the Glastonbury Fabrication Complex in Outer Bar. Property damage estimates were hard to calculate, but expected to be in the billions, taking into account the Word of Blake airstrike leveled the Tree Mills Arcology, a fifty-million-C-bill project that was home to several corporations, including Tao Optics, a division of Tao 'Mechworks.[41]
