System Information

The Bordon system was home to at least one habitable world and as of June 3152 was located in the Covenant Worlds Province of the Free Worlds League.[1]

System Description[edit]

Bordon is located near the Connaught and New Dallas systems.[2]

System History[edit]

The Bordon system was settled at some point during the First Exodus from Terra.[3]

Planetary History[edit]

Star League[edit]

By the end of the Reunification War, Bordon was a world within the Tyrfing Province of the Terran Hegemony, on the border between the Hegemony and the Free Worlds League.[5]

Fourth Succession War[edit]

Using the Fourth Succession War, Cranston Snord's Irregulars would raid Bordon that was defended by elements of the Thirteenth Marik Militia. This raid was implemented to draw away Free Worlds League forces so they could not reinforce Procyon and Wasat against Tikonov Free Republic attacks.[35][36]

Jihad[edit]

In response to the recent raids and assaults on worlds within the Word of Blake Protectorate, the Blakists launch raiding parties against various worlds around the Protectorate border in early September 3076. Making use of weapons of mass destruction to worsen the damage inflicted, the raiding parties—few of which were larger than a single Level III—struck at the worlds of Algorab, Alnasi, Amity, Bordon, Connaught, Hunan, Kessel, New Hessen, New Kyoto, Ronel, St. Andre, Styk, Tsitsang, and Wei. Of the worlds hit, those affiliated with the Capellan Confederation took the brunt of the fighting.[37][38]

By comparison with worlds such as Galatea and Shiloh, Bordon came through the Jihad with relatively light damage.[39]

Dark Age[edit]

Annexed by the Republic of the Sphere during the 3080s, Bordon later received an influx of Draconis Combine-descended immigrants from Prefecture II. Relocated in accordance with the Resettlement Act of 3082, the newcomers' industrial skills and culture had not been a good fit for Bordon's agricultural economy and native customs. Nonetheless, Linette Ferguson, elected governor in 3127, successfully worked to bridge the divide and managed to keep Bordon from falling into chaos after the Blackout. Later she negotiated Bordon's membership in the nascent Covenant Worlds on advantageous terms.[39][40]
