- The Flight Academy of Thorin - The Flight Academy is a First Succession War school established by House Steiner. The school during time in service would serve train DropShip crews and Aerospace Fighter pilots.[2] During 3060s, Lyran Alliance need for pilots would over tax the school capacities. Few years later, the school would end up being closed in 3063.[3]
- Krester's Ship Construction - Branch company of a Star League era DropShip manufactured.[4]
- University of Thorin - One of the Terran Hegemony's golden colleges, the school specialized economics. During the Amaris Coup the school would be heavily damaged and later abandoned.[5]
- Hegemony Library on Thorin - Star League era library, noted for being largest of its time with extensive priceless knowledge. However, it was destroyed by Amaris troops during the Amaris Coup.[6]
Planetary History
Colonization
Thorin was among earliest worlds colonized by the Terran Alliance. However, early efforts to settle the planet result in disaster. Some the Alliance's early colony efforts would be destroyed by bull-sized predators.[7]
Outer Reaches Rebellion
During the Outer Reaches Rebellion, THS Monitor, Essex Class Destroyer commanded by Captain Michael Cameron was ambushed by rebels forces while the Monitor investigating Thorin's mining facilities.[8]

Thorin thrived during the Star League era, where schools and libraries would be established on world being renowned. In 2711, Hindu faithful would riot in streets of city of Ramallah due to rare case of religious intolerance.
However, the Amaris Coup would bring destruction to Thorin, where 2nd Amaris Dragoons would destroy the Hegemony Library on Thorin.[9]
Early Succession Wars
Thorin is briefly occupied by House Davion troops, but are soon ran off planet by former Amaris regiment, The Stealths in 2789. However brutality of the fighting on planet, would destroy much of planet.[10][11]
