Planetary History[edit]
Clan Invasion[edit]
Planting was conquered by Clan Wolf during Operation REVIVAL as part of their Third Wave of attacks in July 3050, with major battles taking place at Dantron Meander, Cosimell, and Foshinur. Initially only the Silver Keshik commanded by saKhan Garth Radick along with Supernova Command and Trinary Battle of the 341st Assault Cluster were committed in an attempt to destroy the Forty-first Avalon Hussars, however the Hussars avoided traditional static defenses and instead set up a serious of carefully planned ambushes around the agroindustrial complexes of the Dantron-Sontor-Belex TriCities. Their efforts so surprised and infuriated Garth Radick that he was forced to break his bid and bring in the Third Battle Cluster to win the battle.[35]
In 3051, the Federated Commonwealth decided to support insurgency operations across the Clan Occupation Zones, sending them as many supplies as possible to the planet. This was also the first time Inner Sphere battle armor was tested in battle. The "Gorilla" suits, recently fabricated and based on reengineering of Clan Elemental Armor, were built by Dr. Banzai's Team, including Clovis Holstein, and the NAIS had prepared a platoon. This unit, Team Banzai's First Special Forces Infantry Strike Platoon (The Steel Gorillas), First Squad led by Leftenant Carter Hammerstone, was sent to Planting by Field Marshal Morgan Hasek-Davion. Using a Leopard DropShip, the strike team was able to consolidate eight tons of supplies for guerilla operations and extract several injured soldiers, and even destroyed an Elemental point of Clan Jade Falcon, 612th Reserve Cluster (The Green Claws), Delta Tango Charlie (DTC) Trinary, First Star (The Golden Grasp), First Point led by Star Commander Pribak. The battle took place on 15 October 3051. Hubris and Jade Falcon overconfidence in selecting the Point as the only force to confront the raiders cost the Falcons their victory, and resistance on Planting continued for some time.[36]
The Jihad[edit]
As of 3072, a BattleMech Trinary commanded by Quinn Kerensky and named "Quinn's Ravagers" from the First Falcon Hussars raided prior to July the planet.[37]
Planting was conquered again during the Jihad when Clan Hell's Horses launched an invasion of Clan Wolf holdings in the Inner Sphere in early 3071, acquiring holdings for their own relocation to Spheroid space. Planting was seized by the Hell's Horses between 7 and 28 June 3071.[23] Clan Wolf later launched several counterattacks against worlds captured by the Hell's Horses; Planting was the target of one such counterattack, with Wolf forces establishing footholds the world in the first two weeks of November 3071,[38][25] and between 14 and 31 January 3072 the Wolves pushed the Hell's Horses off Planting.[25][24]
