MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries/Conflict Zones

Overview

Overlaid on the Starmap of the Inner Sphere, red-outlined Conflict Zones are regions where MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries' various missions can be found. Conflict Zones are more prevalent on and in immediate proximity to the borders of the Great Houses. Available contracts are listed above the name of each world within a Conflict Zone where Campaign Missions and High Reward Quests are highlighted in yellow.

Repairs and modifications both take longer and are more costly in these regions, with Conflict Zones also having greatly reduced selection of badly damaged 'Mechs and equipment to purchase and no pilots are available to hire. Conflict Zones do occassionally have Black Markets, which are marked in purple, which feature rare or more pristine options than usuaul for the region - at a price.

Each Conflict Zone has an indicated Reputation level as a sign of the level of reward and difficulty for the contracts within, the Reputation Level of the various zone increasing in a clockwise progression around the Inner Sphere - the lowest Reputation zones in the Federated Suns, the highest in the Draconis Combine. The difficulty level of the Conflict Zones are static, leaving and returning will reset the available contracts but will remain at the same difficulty and tonnage levels.

A list of Conflict Zones follows broken down by Reputation Level/

Mercenary Row (Reputation 3)

A cluster of systems known for housing various mercenary units such as Nik's Cavaliers and other freelancers, a shakey and informal alliance to leave each other alone shattered with the arrival of Black Inferno, resulting in everybody turning on each other.

Mercenary Row is the game's starting zone once the once the initial Campaign Tutorial missions have been completed.
