Ko was one of the worlds that was abandoned by the Terran Alliance following the Outer Reaches Rebellion and the Demarcation Declaration of 2242,[2] but by the end of the Reunification War Ko had become one of the worlds within the Lone Star Province of the Terran Hegemony.[8]

The defenders on Ko were of questionable loyalty, and didn't put up much of a fight[32] when the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces dispatched the Third and Seventh Regiments of the Twelfth Star Guards to capture the planet.[69]
