The miniatures used in MechWarrior: Dark Age (including its major expansion MechWarrior: Age of Destruction) are organized into various collections called sets. Various products in this system would contain miniatures (some randomly selected, some not, depending on the product) from their respective sets. Also some miniatures were distributed at times through other venues such conventions, tournaments, or special offers.
Each unit/miniature was identified by its set and figure number within that set, with the set icon and figure number (a.k.a. collector's number) both printed on the miniature's base. Units also possessed a faction, rank (e.g., Green, Veteran, Elite), and other game stats specific to that unit. Units sharing the same set and figure number would generally be identical, but there were some instances of units having differing colors for the base to certain rare versions. The following summarizes the collection of miniatures, grouped by set.

MechWarrior Sets without Blind Boosters[edit]
The following two sets were released without using a blind booster system. Miniatures in these sets were primarily released through pre-set miniature sets, as components of other products, or as special offers, promotions, or prizes. Miniatures in the Battlefore set initially appeared in 2006 concurrently with the main sequence of expansions at that time. Following the release of MechWarrior: Wolf Strike, which was the last set employing blind boosters, WizKids continued to release miniatures within the Battleforce set using pre-set miniature sets. In 2007, WizKids released a series of products for the Solaris VII set while continuing releases for the Battleforce set.
MechWarrior: Battleforce[edit]
The Battleforce series consisted of a collection of products rather than a blind booster system. Also several products titled Action Packs included miniatures with the Battleforce symbol. Each unit in this set/series was marked with the Battleforce Set Symbol.
